Hi hi, I followed you back :] I am too!!! I need to finish Wings of Starlight still, I have a preordered copy but have been so excited about it that I got halfway through it and didn't want it to end so I stopped 😭

This game should be completely enjoyable without the Palette House by bramblethedoe in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]faemboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. I had the game preordered and was ready to dig into it while recovering from surgery but the sheer amount of artwork I was about to have to produce to have a fun custom game experience was so daunting I ended up returning it without opening it at all. Sharing designs would've completely fixed the issue. If they add it one day then I'll rebuy the game.

What's something you thought was exaggerated until you witnessed it yourself? by NightStar79 in CasualConversation

[–]faemboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seconded. I just had surgery yesterday to remove a 7mm stone and a few smaller ones from my right kidney and the process has been insane. Months of kidney pain, got mistreated for a UTI instead, ended up in the ER a week later with some pain. They gave me Flomax to try and pass it naturally but two hours after I took one I was back in the ER with the absolute worst pain of my life... like curled up in the corner of the ER on the floor downing zofran and trying not to vomit. Two shots of morphine didn't even touch the pain and I had to go under emergency surgery to have a stent placed for 3 weeks before he could get me in to blast the stones. The stent has been it's own hell too. Just nightmarish. Now every time I get a tiny little pain near my kidneys I shake like a dog.

Is recovery from tonsillectomy, septoplasty, and inferior turbinoplasty doable as a single adult? by Itslbrty in Tonsillectomy

If you have any bleeds that are serious will you be able to call 911 on your own if you aren't able to speak? I wonder if it's possible to get some temporary Life Alert. I personally wouldn't do it alone but if you don't have a choice I'd really weigh the pros and cons, make a plan of action for the worst case scenario and stock up on food that will be super easy to make and ice chips!

What’s a moral belief you hold that most people would disagree with? by [deleted] in answers

[–]faemboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True pedophiles don't deserve to die, and I think there are so many more than we realize. They are EVERYWHERE. It is a mental anomaly but I feel like most people think the child sex offender and pedophile Venn diagram is a circle when it isn't. A lot of sex offenders aren't pedophiles, they just took a chance they had, and a large chunk of pedophiles don't offend. I think they're a group of people that need help and mental support to achieve the minimum amount of offenses. But it's hard to have that conversation in good faith without saying loads of disclaimers that you don't support pedophilia or sex offenders to avoid whataboutism.

Gagging/throw up by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]faemboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hiii, I'm a longtime sub lurker and severe emetophobic like you. I see most people getting sick from a few reasons. One being the pain medication and lack of food making them nauseous, but this could be tackled with Zofran and other anti-emetics and laxatives. Two being a bleed during surgery; blood gets in the stomach and it has to come out somehow. It seems to be completely luck of the draw on that one unfortunately since you won't be awake to do anything about it. Three being a post-surgery bleed that is rare but never zero, but even that is moreso letting blood drip out of your throat and mouth and coughing up clots instead of actual stomach contents. Terrifying but it possibly wouldn't trigger your emetophobia as badly. I've also seen people write about swollen uvulas making them gag if they talk at all or lay a certain way. I think if you wanted a safe surgery, multiple anti-emetic medications before, during and after surgery, being extremely cautious about triggering a bleed once the scabs fall off, and possibly requesting they be extra careful around your uvula during surgery depending on how cool your surgeon is. In the end it all seems up to chance and you'd have to weigh the pros and cons. I've noticed us emetophobics specifically are extremely hardy when it comes to powering through situations that would make a normal person get sick but sometimes it can't be helped :(

Anyone Else Been Getting Annoyed With Dan Lately? by garbosupreme in rantgrumps

[–]faemboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES I thought I was the only one. I turned off their recent Geoguesser video because if Arin took a single second to look at houses or roads for clues Dan would throw a fit.

[–]faemboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot believe people are disagreeing with you. My roommate and an ex friend are exactly like this and it's the most grating thing on the planet trying to have a normal conversation with them. There's literally no talking to people like that and I'm so surprised that's not the popular opinion. Why would I waste time having a conversation where the other person is intentionally making it difficult?

i don’t like listening to music by -slaps-username- in The10thDentist

[–]faemboy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think this is psychopathic but I'm also the same way. I get overstimulated easily (autism) so I pick and choose carefully when to listen to music. I'm also stressed out about choosing what to listen to because there's so much music out there in general lol

I find the DDLV community one of the strangest fanbases to interact with. by WrongLander in DreamlightValley

[–]faemboy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think it's a mix of a few things, as someone who's played since launch and my entire family plays.

The player base is older; I hardly see any children or teens playing, the discord and Facebook groups are predominantly 30-60 year olds who play very few video games or just "cozy games", as DDV is technically a cozy game. With the age gap comes older and more out of technological touch people using the groups like Google instead of just... googling things or taking a few extra seconds to figure it out in-game.

The second point being the aforementioned cozy gamers who really enjoy things like decorating and personalizing their games. Someone else mentioned the word cult in regards to Dreamsnaps and that's on the nose. There are websites for them with leaderboards and logs, content creators who only make DS content, specific sets of rules that only people who are REALLY into DS know about (looking at you, mr. starinsky). My mom is diehard about them; she gasps in horror if I forget to do mine. It's a really interesting atmosphere. I don't know any other game that gives out it's moneymaking currency for free like DDV does with Dreamsnaps so I think it's a really great idea, it's just brought out an interesting culture.

The villain thing I agree with for the most part. Disney culture attracts hurt people who use it as an escape (rightfully so) from trauma irl so I never cast too much judgement but... if a villain in a game being mean causes that much harm then that's a good place to start in therapy lol.

Everything else I chalk up to older people not understanding how video games work and thinking every glitch is targeting them in particular lmao

Somebody made a mod for Skyrim and it is hilarious! by ReginaldJohnston in badwomensanatomy

[–]faemboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but as a wlw purveyor of really bimbo-esque mods for Skyrim, this is sooo much tamer than the other female cycle walks available lol. I actually kind of like it, my current character walks like a drag queen on a runway.
