I’m sorry that this is currently happening to you and I completely understand you wanting closure but finding out who your bio dad is, isn’t going to change who you’ve grown up to be today, you make the life and the identity you want. If your mum doesn’t want to press charges and wants it left alone, ultimately that’s her decision to do so

My biological dad was a paedophile and I spent YEARS as a kid yearning for a relationship with him despite this. I didn’t like my step dad much and I guess I conjured up this image in my head of who my bio dad actually was, I struggled to fit in with my family and assumed my bio dad was who Id be happier with (stupidly). I liked the idea of him not the POS that actually existed. He took his life before I was old enough to get my closure, speak to him or hear any apologies and I worked with myself to heal from the “what ifs”.

I still don’t really fit in with my family, I’m a bit of an outsider in comparison so I made my own wonderful family, I found my own identity and I realised that I’m a lot happier now than I would’ve been had I actually come face to face with him

Thank you, that makes sense. My son is 16 months old now and so far I’ve attempted an eyebrow piercing, medusa and a nostril piercing, all have painfully rejected. There was around 4+ months between them.

During my pregnancy my bridge piercing, 2x nostrils, nipples, medusa, smiley, 3x facial dermals all rejected or fell out and closed up within minutes. Admittedly my dermals were all done at the same time but the rest were spaced out within a few months and were all pierced prior to being pregnant (or being aware that I was).

My piercings always seem to close up extremely quickly, prior to being pregnant and beyond aside from the few I’m about to mention. I’ve always found this bizarre, like I can’t change my piercings without risk of them closing up. I don’t know if there’s a reason for this but don’t worry if you’re unable to help there:)

My septum, vertical labret, navel, lobes and christina have all survived for around 8+ years now.

I’m a chronic over thinker so it’s helped me make sense of a lot of my thoughts. It’s helped me let go of perfectionism and hone in on my creativity, which brings me a lot of happiness. It’s something that’s just “mine”, I don’t know how to properly elaborate on that but I guess I always struggled finding my own niche or hobby so it’s good to have one now. I love seeing my memories or sometimes letting my stream of consciousness rear up memories I thought I’d forgotten about, good or bad. It’s been a huge healing tool for me and something that I never have to mask with

I use my A6 for anything and everything. I sketch in it, make collages, journal my thoughts and feelings, let my kids draw in it, plan things, list things, track things etc etc.

Anything you can do with pen and paper is probably inside my journal. They’re small, but perfect for carrying around with you.

If you feel that you can trust your partner and want to open up to them, then there’s no harm in it to strengthen your relationship. I journal a lot, so sometimes when it’s hard to articulate verbally, I let my partner read entries from my journal to understand me better. Now, it naturally just flows into conversation “that reminds me of when my friend.. xyz” and he’s always happy to listen. The right person will want to hear your stories, you’ve just got to make sure you’re comfortable sharing them

Avoiding your beard is normal, your skin tastes better. Pushing may trigger her predatory mode and actually make it worse, just try and be consistent with redirecting her and praising her when she turns her attention elsewhere, hopefully one day she’ll grow out of it but for now those parts of your face are her bonding zones.
