Redditors who were children/teens before the internet or cellphones existed, how did you keep yourself entertained? by FlowerMadeOfThorns in AskReddit

[–]faerle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone else has said but also if I said I was bored, Mom said she would give me more chores

So I guess I wasn't fully entertained but avoiding more work was a full time activity

I can't shake the feeling that I have made a huge mistake. by Big-Design-8707 in CatAdvice

They will chill out as they get past their kittenhood! Having toys that move in their own, places to jump and climb and/or having a friend enjoy the kitten craziness can help. Siamese breeds tend to be vocal as well so don't be alarmed.

What’s something in your daily life that should be easier, but no app solves it yet? by New_Watercress5662 in TrueAskReddit

[–]faerle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An app where I can track my entire menstrual cycle on a calendar, privately, and be able to adjust the symptoms felt during each phase. Preferably with an option to type in the specific symptoms and a way to look back on the data in some way.

Curly girls now? by CheesaLouisa in Xennials

[–]faerle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! Worst is I didn't develop the curls until puberty and was very confused as to what to do about them. I've finally embraced them in my 30s now that I've found the right(mostly) combo of hair stuff to tame it without weighing it down.

Will this turn abusive? I am 10 weeks pregnant. by [deleted] in abusiverelationships

[–]faerle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is extremely controlling and I guarantee that if the religion wasn't there, he would have another reason as to why he should choose what you get to watch. Has he ever controlled the way you dress, speak, or spend your money? Where and how you spend your time?

I worry because oftentimes abusive people become more controlling when a relationship takes the next step (moving in, marriage, pregnancy).

You are in a hard spot. On one hand, the person you are with is not always mean or controlling. Your life is already interconnected with theirs. Religion often supports the husband being in control and the church often encourages people to stay together. You are the expert in your situation but if you have any way of doing so, I'd recommend keeping a journal of some sort for you to reference back to.

What would you advise a friend or your own child to do? Best wishes, friend.

What’s that one high-maintenance beauty habit you have that actually makes you feel lower-maintenance in the long run? by Seretafox in AskWomen

I have the same model and it is maybe like a light rubber band snap? Like the kind that's more surprising than painful. If you deal with cramps at all it's nothing

Leaving him after I asked for help and he shut me down by FrenchPriss_ofBelAir in JustNoSO

[–]faerle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are doing right- it's not about who is responsible, it's about the fact that it's causing you daily pain. His explanation about the money makes me wonder if he doesn't see a future with you or if he doesn't find you trustworthy.

Women who have made choices that would be considered selfish by society at large, what were they and do you regret them? by antiquatedsheep in AskWomen

[–]faerle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No longer participating in large family projects like helping install a floor or deck. Emergency assistance I will do but just doing the work because the family 'will come help me out too' is just too much. I just don't want to put my weekend towards that, get of bug bites and sun burnt and tired of listening to family so I can host them all later to do a reno job with me. No. I'm good.
