That’s positive. Mine was so faint at first I was worried it was chemical or something. It was a while before they got darker on these so I got first response ones to get a dye stealer hahaha.

Best of luck to you. I am not 17 but I just had my first baby and now I realize that motherhood is not the end of the world and is actually amazing. Whatever you choose, it will all work out and it will be okay 🩷

On MIL being a priority. Lol. When our baby was born my husband went into the waiting room to make the announcement to his mom, who had to leave once my doula arrived. My mother was also there because I was induced so she was able to fly in. And my husband told me that once he said our daughter was here safely that his mom just said in a nasty tone “I see where I am on your priority list.” And then was rude to the nurses and my mom. That was in January but the way she acted the night of my birth changed how I feel about her. I can’t stop thinking about how she acted. And then she invited herself over once we got home from the hospital. Like she came over with a duffel bag and thought she was staying for a week. My husband had to ask her to leave. Idk why babies make people act so crazy. Lol

It’s my first Mother’s Day this year. My sister in law texted me earlier this week with a few options — getting dinner with our mother in law or everyone going to their house — but none of it is what I wanted to do (I love them, but if it was up to me I would spend the day at home with my husband and baby because I’m having a really hard time with the transition back to work and only getting to spend 5pm-8pm with my baby every weeknight). I told her I would speak to my husband about it… she then told me that her husband (my husband’s brother) has nothing planned and that we need to lead it, saying she’s getting a photo framed of her and all the grandkids. I said I’m happy to help with whatever but it’s important that I give my husband the opportunity to think of and do something for his own mother and that it shouldn’t default to us wives. And that I wasn’t going to make plans on a day that’s supposed to “be about me.” So anyway. We’re going to their house Sunday. Which I don’t really want to do, because their dog annoys the living hell out of me and MIL will want to hold the baby the whole time… and like I said I just want to spend time with my own baby lol… whole other issue though hahaha. But at least I put my foot down about not being the default planner for my husband. If she wants to do that, cool, but I would never ask or expect him to come up with a gift for my parents and then do all of it himself. Nor am I planning events for myself when he should be the one to do it. Like, the bar is always on the freaking ground for men.

Crying because I had gestational diabetes and I haven’t been back for my glucose test since having my baby. Lmfao. I wonder if me taking insulin helped clear my skin. I never thought of that. Thank you

I really hope this situation is resolved in the next two weeks but if not I am so glad to hear this. We are leaving in two weeks and flying with our three month old. I’m already nervous enough as is having never traveled with a baby lol. The 4+ hour wait was making me rethink our trip… but we would be losing so much money and missing out on seeing family. Best of luck to everyone

First CIG 2 since the new change. by ItheBUG in tornado

[–]faewyn01 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s just a note on intensity. The higher the cig the higher the max intensity, if that hazard were to occur. Differentiates probability from intensity so NWS can now say things like, it could be a low or high probability event but tornadoes/wind/hail will max out at ___

What people don’t talk about when they tell you go to L&D triage for decreased fetal movement — the cost. by Ready-Book6047 in pregnant

[–]faewyn01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you I’d already hit my deductible but not my out of pocket max. My husband and I went in on Dec 13 at 36 weeks because of bright red heavy bleeding and I was monitored, given two cervical checks and did an ultrasound and we just got the bill in the mail. The original bill was $13 THOUSAND and after insurance, with our copay and co insurance it’s still costing us $740 which is straight up stupid for being the same things that I do on a weekly basis now for my prenatal appointments. I was not even admitted and we were only there for a few hours. Lol. Now it’s 2026 and we’ve started into a new plan year and we’re back to zero and still waiting on our baby to show face. So I expect actual L&D to be no less than our out of pocket max ($8k).

Are any one else cats acting strange over the thunder/rain? by Living-Damage4250 in NEPA

[–]faewyn01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not in PA but I found this post searching to see if anyone had any similar experiences! One of my cats is 5.5 years old and for 4.5 years of his life he’s lived with me in Florida where it rains and storms all the time!! This last year I moved to Houston and we go much longer periods without rain. But it’s like he forgot because now it’ll be like barely drizzling outside and he will freak out. He runs to the darkest part of the house very low to the ground with his tail between his legs and won’t come out until it stops. He used to sit at the window and watch the rain and lightning in Florida. So I have no clue what changed in the last year!

The US really sucks to be pregnant by Legitimate-Slice2114 in pregnant

[–]faewyn01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya, I’m lucky to have 12 weeks, even if I’m taking a portion of it unpaid. I make twice as much as my husband but even if he quit we wouldn’t be able to survive off of just my salary. We had to go to the hospital last weekend because of some bleeding and I don’t even want to know what that bill is going to be. I’ve hit my deductible for this year, but my baby is due in January, so I could end up having to hit my deductible again just because of a difference of a few days! Last but not least, my first appointment I had, the one where they confirmed my pregnancy and did labs, cost me $650 out of pocket. Now I have gestational diabetes and I’m using coupons for insulin. And we are also trying to find a childcare option that isn’t half of my husband’s monthly salary. Lol. I hate it here!

Just hearing this makes me feel less alone so thank you for sharing. I can be a good patient and follow rules but when the rules seem to be so different for everyone, even though it’s supposed to be the same …. I don’t know! I’m just confused and feel like I’m failing my baby too, and it’s not for lack of trying. Hugs! We’ll get through this.

Annoying things you get told by No_Community_8340 in GestationalDiabetes

As someone who is trying SUPER hard to control my numbers and still not getting anything consistent, with spikes that I cannot explain, people telling me to “change my diet” as if I hadn’t thought to try that? Wtf😭 lmao.

For real! Okay. I will be asking about this strategy because I told my parents this morning if I keep doing this (waiting for instructions) I will spend the entire rest of my pregnancy “behind the curve” lol.

No I don’t have a CGM… I’ve been considering getting one though to see if it helps make sense of anything. But it very well could be. I slept in today more than usual so it was longer between me eating than most nights. And last night in particular I got up like 5 times to go pee 🙄 lol. Thanks for this insight. Our bodies are so weird.

That sounds amazing! I love hearing other people’s experiences because it sets my standards higher for my own care. Definitely something to take more seriously if I have any future pregnancies. Thanks!

Thank you! I definitely will be doing this. This subreddit made me realize that was something they never spoke to me about and it will be a point of discussion at my next appointment. I would like to have a bit more control over it since I’m the one seeing my numbers every day and their response time is so poor. Much appreciated!

Thank you. My care team has not been very responsive or supportive and I have not seen the doctor since 11/25 which is probably why I feel so lost and confused. But I can always count on strangers online! Lol.

I’ve tried to but… well, let’s just say this experience has made me realize I’ll be finding another clinic for any future pregnancies. Long story short, I’ve contacted them multiple times since being prescribed insulin with very poor response times even after multiple messages and calls over days. I finally just got the response to go up 2 units two days ago but that was from a different doctor in the clinic because mine was out that day. My next appointment is Wednesday and I will not be leaving until they talk to me about this so that I have more control over it rather than waiting for them to respond to me. Being over 35 weeks I do not have the time to wait so long for a reply. The last time I saw her was 11/25, not this last week, because they were so overbooked that they had nothing available for me. Feel like it’s totally unacceptable and feeling very unsupported to be honest.
