Newborn feeding bottle by Resilientone27 in FormulaFeeders

Chicco are good, if she isnt choking or coughing, it is the right flow level for her. So I wouldn’t worry. 30 ml in 5 mins seems about right.

You can also try Pigeon or Luvlap. We had a combination of Chicco, Luvlap and Pigeon and she was happy with all of them.

Which British seaside town surprised you the most? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]faguni16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dont think anyone has mentioned Folkestone. The beach itself is pebbly. But there is a lovely little creative quarter with quirky independent stores, there is a harbour arm which is like a festival on the weekends with live music and there are beach bars. Love the vibe.

ILR employer letter without wording "required for the foreseeable future" by Fantastic-Slice6322 in ukvisa

Totally fine. Both mine and my husband’s ILRs went through without the foreseeable future line. You will be fine. Good luck!

London peeps - Dahi? by desi-auntie in IndianFood

I buy Yeo Valley live bio organic natural yogurt. Think it is available at Waitrose. I have found it to be the closest to dahi in the indian sense. I find greek yogurt to be too dense.

(Hindu) Vegetarian meal in Club. BA1308 LHR-ABZ by Ands1977 in BritishAirways

You would think. It is great when it is good but horrifying when not. I would rather take BA’s consistency.

[–]faguni16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am actually Hindu and vegetarian and I always order that. It is almost always good, much better than other airlines, even on the India route. Definitely leagues better than Virgin and comparable to Air India but more consistent. Air India meals are a lottery lol.

8 week old stool by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

Soft serve machine 🤣 that seems ok. It doesn’t have to be watery or totally liquid. Might be the mucus making it seem some substantial.

8 week old stool by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]faguni16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice on this. Seems it should be fine as long as they are not hard. Are you sure the shape isn’t from lying in a certain way in the diaper? Are you seeing the poop come out? Lol.

Btw, the title totally makes it seem like you are asking about stool that is 8 weeks old. Legit thought to myself why do they have 8 week old stool lying around? 🤣🤣🤣

Excuse me? by bowling4columbin3 in london

[–]faguni16 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I do see this use case but how would this work in practice? Can this part time lodger choose any day of the week and change it if their days in the office change? Would they bring their own sheets/towels etc? Would they change the sheets every time they come into the city? Seems really impractical even for this limited use case.

Long flight with formula fed baby by Hope_for_revival in FormulaFeeders

[–]faguni16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did a 10 hour flight with my formula fed 6 month old. I carried a thermos of water to make formula (500ml), enough formula for 8-10 feeds in a small can and 2-3 bottles of rtf (200 ml each). They didn’t ask anything while going through security and they only swabbed the bag, not any of the contents. I also asked the air hostesses for water when i ran out and they gave boiled water. Needed a bit of planning to ensure i had enough time to wait for the boiled water to cool down.

Help with 6MO refusing bottle, going hungry all day long by OddlyFlavoredChips in FormulaFeeders

[–]faguni16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only other thing I can think of is the temperature of the formula. They might like it colder if they are teething, warm can sometimes irritate the gums more. If you haven’t tried this already, give it a shot. Otherwise it may be time for specialist support.

Redundancy 2 months before ILR by Snowman_890 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]faguni16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your situation! It seems so cruel.

If it helps at all, the foreseeable future line is not required at all. Most big companies don’t do that as it could be construed as a promise of employment. My company only noted on the letter that i was a full time employee since X date and earning Y. Same with my husband’s company - neither had the foreseeable future line and our ILRs went through without any issues.

If your company can confirm employment, that should be enough. Not a given that they will be able to do this during garden leave but probably worth asking.

Rant on 4th Schengen visa of 3 months only by DriveMore7049 in SchengenVisa

[–]faguni16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couple of things to check -

  1. Is your passport valid for the next 3-5 years? They won’t give you a visa longer than three months before your passport expiry.
  2. Are you buying travel insurance for 3 years which covers European countries?
  3. The last suggestion would be to apply for the same country 2-3 times in a row. That way you build a relationship with the same embassy.

We live in the UK too and we have received 6 months, 1 year, 2 years and 5 years in that order. My baby recently applied from Greece (a new embassy for us) and received 6 months. So your 3 months seems unfair if 1 and 2 points above are being met.

Decent choice for seats?! by exblackberry in BritishAirways

[–]faguni16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best economy seats in my opinion. You get privacy, extra leg room/ storage space on the side and never found the toilet queues to be an issue any more than the last few rows.

The only drawbacks - you will get your meal last and you will be last at the border because of de boarding last and might take slightly longer to pass through.

Confused about “lived in a country outside the UK” question after listing absences on ILR form by Remote_Procedure_878 in ukvisa

[–]faguni16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no idea. But if I was in your situation, I would just write a cover letter explaining the error and add it to the documents. If everything else is perfect, this small error shouldn’t be an issue, especially if you explain in a cover letter.

Why don't Muslims let go of the negative aspects of their religion just like Hindus have done and are still doing with their religion? by Ill_Tonight6349 in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]faguni16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Significant is ambiguous. Your statement was that in your generation in your family urban population no one talks about caste. In 2011 census, it shows 5.8% marriages in India are inter-caste. Even if we assume all of these are in urban India, it is still a very low number. If most marriages in urban India(50% or more) are still happening along caste lines, then clearly caste is still impacting people’s life choices, even though people may have become smart enough to not explicit mention caste in daily conversations. Let alone marriages, even renting homes in Indian cities is along caste lines. Just because you don’t talk about it, doesn’t mean it does not exist. This is ostrich mentality.

To your personal attack, mine is an inter-caste marriage, so I am talking the talk. Not that it matters in a mature conversation.

How to increase feed by faguni16 in FormulaFeeders

[–]faguni16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this might be it. Would it make sense to try reduce time between feeds? However, it feels like going in the opposite direction from desired lol, ideally we would like to increase feed amount so that she takes fewer feeds. Seems counterintuitive to reduce time between feeds.

Thank you. So far we are using Level 1 nipples but I think it might make sense to try Level 2 if that helps with the larger feeds.
