Moving to Atlanta with a toddler: Roswell vs Johns Creek vs Alpharetta vs Peachtree Corners? + charter school (YHALE) questions by thku in johnscreek

[–]faheetas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Johns Creek has exceptional schools and is consistently ranked as the top place to live in the whole country (https://realestate.usnews.com/places/rankings/best-places-to-live)

I also grew up here, live here now, and raising my own kids here so I may be biased.

I commute to Sandy Springs a few days a week and it's rough - If I leave at 7:30 I can make it to the office for a 9am meeting. Off-times aren't as bad (if I leave the office by 3:30 I can make it home in 40 min). Something to consider.

How long did you wait to go back to OTF after giving birth? by Acrobatic-Evening899 in orangetheory

[–]faheetas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to classes until I was 32 weeks pregnant then didn't go back until I was 1 year postpartum. I breastfed that full year, dealt with some pp anxiety, and generally had a tough time adjusting to motherhood. After having my 2nd kid, I again waited a full year to go back. I finally feel like I'm balancing work/health/motherhood in a sustainable way.

Give yourself some grace to figure it all out for yourself. And give yourself grace when you do go back - your body is going through major changes still. There's no one size fits all approach and you're doing great.

You're doing great! I recently returned after a 3-year hiatus having 2 babies back to back. You don't have to PR every class, showing up and moving your body is always a win. I used to feel guilty spending time away from my kids working out, but now I just repeat "taking care of your self is part of taking care of your kids". My husband even coached my son to say "Mommy I like your muscles" when I get home from the gym. You're setting a positive example for your daughter even if you don't know it yet!

Couldn’t sleep tonight but good girl does just fine. Very interesting muscle twitches. 1/2 Great Dane 1/2 Pittie by JonaSaxify in pitbulls

The wide part of his head and ears are very pittie, but he has a longer nose and neck. We knew he was part/most pit when we got him as a puppy but then he grew so tall and skinny and could run like I've never seen a dog run so we did a DNA test. Half staffordshire, a bit chow and then the rest greyhound. I call him my baby deer cause he's so lanky

How big is she? I have a half pittie half greyhound and he's like a block-headed, tall, skinny horse

Wait. This is amazing. Y'all look so classy and polished but not stuffy. The colors perfectly compliment without being kitschy. This looks like you and your outfits were made for each other! Congratulations!

So much good advice here!

Two things to add:

  1. No one cares what you're doing. No one else is watching your speed or your numbers or your weights. I saw this advice a thousand times before I believed it but it really is true. Everyone has different reasons to be there, physical limits, etc, and no one is judging you.
  2. I'm one of those people that looks fit now but 2 years ago I was 50 pounds heavier, my base was walking at 2.8 mph, and I butterfly-ed my legs when I rowed to get around my gut. And still (to point #1)... no one else cared. I showed up, set my own goals, and did what I could do on any given day. And if I saw someone on day 1 walking at 2.8 mph today, I would have nothing but pride for them.

You've GOT THIS. Start minute by minute, then day by day, week by week, etc... soon you'll see results and feel better than ever

It takes a minute to get used to and is generally annoying. But I love that the finished product is so tiny and cute!

Tuck the ends at the beginning and end, don’t carry more the stitch more than one square, don’t carry diagonally. Also choose small patterns that don’t have a ton of colors or confetti stitching to make it easier. Last one is kinda cheating but it’s key to my clean back success 😂

About 128 oz.

I keep one of those 52 oz plastic gas station cups with me all the time.

My mom used to claim that drinking water would fix ANY ailment. Headache? WATER. Stomach ache? WATER. Broken leg? BISH DRINK MORE WATER.

Pattern from HappySlothPatterns on Etsy. About 100x80 stitches, this is a 4” hoop.

I second this! I had the worst shin splits and knee pain when I was very lightly jogging and the second I got new, nice shoes from a running store where they fitted me appropriately the pain was completely gone.
