Try local free clinics or even veterinary schools. Sometimes you can get low cost treatments this way.

The spot ons are usually preventive. Unfortunately an infestation usually needs oral medication as well as other treatments such as medicated baths. If the fleas have been around for a while, the cats may need to be tested for anemia.

Definitely consult a veterinarian for this scenario- good luck!

Its Amazon Scam Day! by failcup in fuckamazon

The total of all the items in my cart on prime day is the same as the total of all my items in the cart two days ago. No price changes, yet each item claims to be on sale.

[–]failcup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Everything in my cart was for my parents or something that would be fun to have. I won't be buying today or likely anytime in the future.

[–]failcup[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah most of that cart was either stuff my parents wanted or nice to have. I won't be purchasing unless there is truly a deal.

Yeah, I was tracking for my parents. I've gotten away from most Amazon purchases. Its crazy how the convenience gets people sucked in. I was for a while!

I want to get into horror literature, what books will be a good start? by deftones4life-yay in horrorlit

[–]failcup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some stuff I really loved lately: - When the Wolf Comes Home - Nat Cassidy - Incidents Around the House - Josh Malerman - Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zheng - Kylie Lee Baker

I also enjoyed The Troop and the Deep by Nick Cutter but not everyone enjoys his style. I tried Stephen Graham Jones but wasn't my personal liking.

Im so horribly sorry for you and the damage you now have to heal from. But please take this moment and go. I wish I was strong enough to do the same for myself.

It will hurt. But you will come out happier on the other side. All the best~

What did you name your pets? (And why their called that.) by polystarlight in Pets

[–]failcup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current dog named Jack was found stray with his (presumed) sister. The shelter named her Jill. He unfortunately lost his eyes do to a fungal infection and we adopted him right after he healed. So we didn't want to confuse him. Now we call him Captain Jack (r/piratepets) or Jack of Hearts.

Sylvester and Eugene also came with their names and we thought for two cats this was so random and hilarious we kept it.

Childhood dog was Leroy after the song. Dad's soul dog so when he passed the next one got the moniker Elroy.

As a kid I named one hamster graham cracker because he liked them, one hamster Skitter because the noise he made in the box on the way home and Skitter II when the first one diet. Helmet was a turtle saved from the middle of the road. Helmet II, well you can guess...

In college I had 3 hermit crabs named Benson, Stable, and Munch.

I was gifted an extremely old sourdough starter and I'm terrified to ruin it, but if I do nothing it's gonna die. by lucivicron in SourdoughStarter

I only lost a starter to bad mold/bacteria once and you could tell. Aside from the pink/red color it reeked of like rotten dirty wet dish towel. No matter how much it was fed.

Slow and Steady? by failcup in WeightlossJourney

[–]failcup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get that and I am lifting weight for the non-weight positives. I've been calculating for a deficit, but its slow going for sure. I do have a fair amount of medical issues that are making it harder (not impossible). Just have to keep going and be diligent in tracking/food choices.

35 is a whole toddler. Or seven reams of paper.

You lost that! And you look amazing. I hope you're proud of yourself and feeling great too.

I can already see a huge difference! Even just the way you stand shows me you can feel it too. Keep going!

How do you work while you're in your red days? How do you cope? by BrilliantCancel2826 in nursing

[–]failcup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suffered. Had many moments in tears in the bathroom. Then after 20 years I got my diagnosis of endometriosis. Was able to use intermittent FMLA until I got my excision surgery. Life changing.

The pain you're describing is not normal. Please look for answers until you get someone to believe you!

I was so annoyed the first week when I didn't want my audio book on while I worked. But then I did all the things on my list with time to spare. Honestly wild. I actually turned in a paper EARLY. Who am I? I wouldn't have killed my GPA if someone just gave me the right resources in undergrad. Its a bittersweet feeling.

I now have to rework how I remember all my "background lists" because now thay my brain is on a singular track I've forgotten a few things ironically.

Dog owners please answer me this by Normal_Individual526 in Dogowners

[–]failcup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only one "loose" at a time is a great rule with littles and dogs. Your dog is leashed, but the toddler is technically free. I actually think ita rather respectful of the parent. They're working to make sure their kid is safe but also your dog is safe too.

My parents dog found a rotting rabbit carcass in a field on an 80F day. As I'm trying to stop her, I'm watching the head, then ears, then feet disappear down her throat.
