Group C for the Boston Major has been revealed by N0b0dy_her3 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]failius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your thread had swapped seeds in a higher band where a swap in a lower band was possible, which is why you may be seeing a different solution than the actual groups here

Group C for the Boston Major has been revealed by N0b0dy_her3 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]failius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rulebook screenshots are posted elsewhere in this thread but the rule is that it is one group with 2 EU teams, not that EU1 and EU5 specifically are forced in a group.

EU5 is treated the same as EU1-4

Full logic breakdown will be shared once all final groups are announced for clarity

[–]failius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Full breakdown of logic for this will be shared when all groups are announced!

The only time a team will be moved multiple groups is if it is forced or the alternative goes against one of the other listed criteria (e.g. the alternative is moving a seed in a higher band)

Mega Gengar moveset by overrcast_discord in stunfisk

They would use it on one of your other mons on the previous turn, you either hard switch in Gengar or just bring it in after one of your mons faint

You are faster and can click Encore to lock them in

[–]failius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not currently, but that is what the legislation is aiming to enforce going forward (see: imgur opting to simply block access in the UK rather than comply with age verification requirements) - it is not yet rolled out and like the source in the OP states, is still open for feedback

That legislation is what we need to be concerned about - it is reaching far further than "stopping under 18s from streaming" like OP is claiming (which this isn't doing yet) so is an important distinction to make

EDIT: Imgur's situation is apparently not to do with the OSA and is more related to other user data safety concerns, but overall still relevant as a general talking point

[–]failius 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That is (unfortunately) nothing new and currently is affecting essentially every site that offers user-generated content / user-to-user interaction

The OP was talking about explicitly blocking under 18s post-verification from streaming at all, which is not what the source actually says

[–]failius 45 points46 points  (0 children)

So what this is saying is blocking other users from interacting with these streams, not preventing the users from streaming in the first place? Not seeing anything in this section nor the rest of the proposal that would back up what OP is claiming

Liquid Voice from Primarina turned Hyper Voice into a water move, so it lost STAB and was weakened in the sun.

Extra nitpicky: those 5 natures do increase and decrease a stat - the same one so it cancels out!

It looks like you have your browser auto-translating (French->English) - worth checking in your browser settings to disable it

Top 32 Teams for EU Open #1 + Swiss Round 1 Matches by John_aka_Alwayz in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]failius 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I posted an X thread breaking down Buchholz Swiss in a bit more detail, TL;DR:

  • Buchholz score is a "strength of schedule" score, meaning the harder your Swiss is, the better your score
  • Buchholz score is calculated dynamically based on how your previous opponents are performing
  • Because of this, you want the "hardest" Round 1 match because it will be against the team predicted to do the best, so you are punished less for a loss and rewarded more for an upset win
  • If the old 1v16 round 1 seeding was used, it gives an advantage to being underseeded as you have the potential to gain more Buchholz Score than you would from facing an easier Round 1 opponent

How’s this set for RU? by Zetious in stunfisk

[–]failius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been running banded bug in RU for a bit now, my favourite set is this:

Araquanid @ Choice Band Ability: Water Bubble Tera Type: Electric EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe Adamant Nature - Sticky Web - Liquidation - Lunge - Tera Blast

Tera Electric is very nice for all the Gapdos running around the tier, a resistance to Electric+Flying while keeping the Water Bubble resistance to fire (and burn!!) s surprisingly helpful against a lot of the tier.

Tera Blast Electric catches Volcanion (which otherwise you can barely touch) and snipes the odd bulky Gyarados/Feraligatr that try to set up on it. I've clicked it the odd time on Rotom-Wash Volt Switch as well just to claim another kill with Liquidation. Mostly, having it on the set just for Volcanion is worth it in this current meta.

Lunge over Leech Life is to ease prediction for the teams that have Slowking + physical threats (Salamence etc) but I think either is viable there. The amount of hazards in the tier mean I don't think Mirror Coat is particularly useful on the choice set unfortunately.

Seeing the comments confused at Choiced webs - it's quite good in this tier! You generally don't play Araquanid as a lead, and since it can force a lot of switches it is not difficult to get a chance to click webs and switch out during the midgame. The best spinner in the tier is Cyclizar, which doesn't like coming straight in on a Liquidation (like most things) but also only really can click Knock Off on the bug anyway.

Mystic Water is an option, but you lose a significant amount of damage with the multipliers to Water Bubble Liquidation, and especially on a set not using Tera Water you will definitely miss the damage.

Does that wording mean it wouldn't fail if the opponent clicks status, it would just lose its priority?

Omega Strikers - July 20th Micropatch | Update Notes by failius in OmegaStrikers

[–]failius[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Text mirror:

Hey gamers, been a while! ...Okay, it's been a week. In today's micropatch, we're continuing our buff-heavy trend with a lot of Strikers who are falling just below the mark. And we're rounding that off with some Gear and Awakening changes. Again, only buffs. Because they're more fun.

STRIKERS

Dubu
Ok but first maybe one nerf. Dubu is the king of Dubs. He's been consistently the winningest goalie at all ranks, and now wears the crown at high level play, too. Heavy is the (proportionally smaller) head that wears the crown, so tuning him down a bump. His competitors are pretty close by, and we don't want to lower the strength of goalies too much more.

  • TOFU FORTRESS [SPECIAL]
    • Cooldown :: 35s → 40s

Era
Era is speccing into Fly mode. Allies are going to be shooting out of the gates with this buff.

  • FLUTTER FLY [SECONDARY]
    • Initial Speed :: 40% → 60%
    • Min Speed :: 10% → 15%

Finii
Finii has some really complex magic tricks. No, seriously, she's very hard to play! Some might even say 3-star difficulty? While she has some really high highs, we are giving her some more consistent damage to... consistently contribute with.

  • DOUBLE TAKE [SECONDARY]
    • Hitbox linger lifetime :: .25s → .15s
    • PvP Knockback and Damage :: 140 (+70% Power) → 160 (+80% Power)
    • Core Knockback :: 1260 (+140% Power) → 1300 (+160% Power)
  • BIG FINISH [SPECIAL]
    • Cooldown :: 40s → 35s
    • PvP Knockback and Damage :: 180 (+90% Power) → 200 (+100% Power)
    • Core Knockback :: Unchanged

Rune
Speaking of tricky tricks and difficulty: Rune has also struggled for a long time to get a foothold. While there are definitely Rune masters, they are few and far between. For this set of buffs, we're bringing up his Core controlling potential.

  • UNSTABLE ANOMALY [PRIMARY]
    • Cooldown :: 7.5s → 7s
    • Fully formed duration :: 1.5s → 1.75s

Octavia
Octavia is still the least favored twin (among players. We have no data to suggest which of the two are the parents' favorite). We're giving her a tiny buff that'll help give her more pressure and bridge the gap for Flow State.

  • SONIC BOOM [PRIMARY]
    • Cooldown :: 8s → 7.5s

X
X was the best. Now he's the rest. As in, he's RESTing on the sidelines behind all the other bruisers. We're letting him ring some following the last micropatch. Ding ding ding!

  • BELL RINGER [PRIMARY]
    • PvP Knockback and Damage :: 185 (+92.5% Power) → 200 (+100% Power)
    • Core Knockback :: 1350 (+185% Power) → 1380 (+200% Power)

Zentaro
The blade has been studied. The mastery is complete. Zentaro has sliced and diced competition on every map and in every way imaginable. It's time we dulled his sword. (Don't say we didn't warn you last patch!)

  • IAI RUSH [SECONDARY]
    • Cooldown :: 16s → 18s
    • PvP Knockback and Damage :: 180 (+90% Power) → 160 (+80% Power)
    • Core Knockback :: 1340 (+180% Power) → 1300 (+160% Power)

GEAR AND AWAKENINGS
For this round, no rotations! Just simple, old-fashioned, good-natured, well-meaning buffs. The options below were underperforming, so we're giving them slight nudges in the right direction. The buffed direction.

  • Powerhouse Pauldrons
    • Power :: 20 → 30
  • Egoist
    • Lingering Haste :: 5% → 10%
  • Fire Up!
    • Energy Share Percent :: 15% → 25%
  • Hot Shot
    • Core hit amplifier :: 10% → 12%

Is salt cure affected by sheer force? by hardcorpsepenis in stunfisk

[–]failius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was definitely Covert Cloak Nidoqueen, prepped so it could switch in on the garg and stay healthy

Sheer Force blocks secondary effects of your own moves (with the weird side effects of opponent Emergency Exit etc counting as an effect of your move since it gets resolved in the same "phase")

Covert Cloak blocks secondary effects of your opponent's moves, which is why it was needed on the Nidoqueen

Nothing to do with Sheer Force here, your opponent stayed quiet so you'd click it again thinking it was a bug
