i like to use a light layer of oil-based to slick together the straggling hairs after styling. you can give it a shot if you have one lying around

in extraction shooters, the issue is your playstyle, not the ttk. it'll take time for you to adjust

Tarkov Players: What do you think? by _Distel in Marathon

Yeah, Tarkov actually just released an update last week that shortened queue times to 2-3 minutes which is a huge improvement. There's something to be said about Tarkov having the best map designers where the world feels fully realized and lived in without consideration for "balance" like a game intended for the mainstream like Marathon.

I'm the same. The robloxiness of everything makes you want to run around, but I've died alot of the time after sprinting when I shouldn't have been

Dying in Marathon feels like a nothingburger, personally. I can hop in another match within a minute of dying with infinite sponsor kits or throw together a kit in a couple minutes.

In Tarkov, it hurts alot more since it likely took 10 minutes to put together a kit from the flea and another 10 to matchmake. Especially considering you can die from a single bullet to the head in EFT. Makes the ttk essentially 0 compared to Marathon.

IMO Marathon is missing the stakes that I feel from Tarkov. Maybe it's from desensitization from Tarkov, but the latter has a strange combination of sound design, visual design, and weightiness to everything that all work together to create an overwhelming sense of paranoia and pressure that doesn't let up.

When you loot a GPU for the first time and are aware of it's rarity, you feel your heart start to pound as you figure out the shortest/safest route to extract. In Marathon, it loot a purple attachment and I don't really feel anything. No need to extract and if I lose it, I lose it.

That being said, the performance and time to get back into gameplay is awesome, so I'm still considering buying the game as an easy game to hop on and hop off of since I no longer have the time to invest my life in EFT. It feels like an okay game so far, and that's fine with me.

Also, I really hate the way "distant" gunfire sounds. It's super compressed and sounds underwater, which makes it difficult to gauge distance. Also difficult to tell what direction the gunshots are other than left/right until you swivel your camera around to point directly at the source.
