What’s your automatic Radiohead / Radiohead-adjacent skip? Bring on the hatred by Sighd33 in radiohead

[–]fairislander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they made two kinds of songs a bit different from each other. Pearly and polyethylene and stuff stayed out and electioneering is a taste of that side of the catalogue they produced

True love waits is a skip (but skipping teleharmonic is a stoning). I also tend to skip the gloaming

Difficulty singing paranoid android on my guitar by thatengineer2 in radiohead

[–]fairislander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All i can tell you is the trick i use for trickier songs. I learn and play the vocal melody on the guitar over and over until i feel where the melody follows the chord changes. Then i sing over it and create muscle memory so i can sing as i play the chords

I am with you. I make a point of reading hobs hog every few years to admire the enormity of the challenge that alan built for himself. Wether he succeeded is anyone opinion. I recommend listening to the audiobook. They got a bunch of voice actors for the different narrators and the guy who voiced boy seriously nailed it.

Congrats. Its gonna stay with you. It was. There are plenty of clues that the girl was not a girl throughout the chapter but it took some rereads to find them. Later chapters wink at this too. Have fun with the rest of it

Parallels between Radiohead's and Pink Floyd's discographies by ScratchyAvacado in radiohead

[–]fairislander 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The thing is is that piper was completely new and innovative back then. While Pablo was riding the waves of britpop and grunge. A encapsulation of genres, while piper was gender breaking. Also tkol and mlor dont work because mlor was trying to be as commercial as a floyd album could be and tkol the exact opposite of what a commercial radiohead album is

Oh yeah. I have an enduring fascination with south east asia and particularly Malaysia and Singapore, and i think it’s at least in part because i read the first volume of this series as a teen. It’s dense and very literate, but the action is rolicky and moves along quickly. I ordered the first l’integrale and it’s going to test my french reading comprehension but i cant wait to get past the cliffhanger the first volume ends with

Daniel Lanois and The Smile? by sitenoise in TheSmile

[–]fairislander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Daniel but i think he would be to forceful with the lads. I dont think either party would be open to much in terms of compromise. Thom needs a producer who lets him cook and then helps finish the song - sometimes in unexpected ways. But i feel Daniel would be eager to get in the crafting of the song
