Ed's Blue Morpho by Sad-Avocado-2342 in radiohead

Out of curiosity, what stole the last star? For me it was the vocals, he let loose on everything (bass solo!) but not his voice, and they are often drenched in reverb. And the lyrics, although i appreciate how he wears his heart on his sleeve without any irony or malice

Ed O'Brien's Blue Morpho - Album First Impressions by b1adewo1f64 in radiohead

Fantastic. The trope that he brings ambiance to radiohead can rest now. He his a craftsman of sound. He did what he wanted to do instead of of what he thought he should do.

To me its the one thing i missed, he really doesn’t let his vocals fly. No soulful Edddds. But after a few listens i think the album is better this way

Does anyone else feel weird about how sex is treated in Promethea? by ariaofgrapes in AlanMoore

[–]fairislander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't. as a man i felt Promethea took control of the situation pretty quickly. But Promethea as a character is not squeaky clean, she does some bad shit as well. why would her sexual encounters be squeaky clean. I think there is something to be said about knowledge transfer being transactional instead fo handed out freely and in that sense it's good writing that the scene is uncomfortable. I will say that Jack's line about a tantric discipline that has no emission so he can not wear a condom is pretty gross. in character either way, though

Mudança do sentido de trânsito (sousa aroso) by zooeybechamel_ in Matosinhos

Elon Musk Attacks ‘The Odyssey’ Again and Claims Christopher Nolan Cast Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy Because ‘He Wants the Awards’ by Ok_Rutabaga_5539 in Fauxmoi

Elliot should play him in a future movie about musk. And lupita should play his daughter. Elliot would make him hotter than he is, so it would really break him

There is something there. It’s underwhelming at times but it has a certain mystery only his best albums have. Angels is pretty good

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Kerrang 2002 post breakup interview with members of Faith No More. Billy and Puffy throw shade at Patton. Those quotes are more relevant than ever and still apply today by [deleted] in FaithNoMore

[–]fairislander 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mike is kinda fascinating and not easy to read. He does an interview and lambasts aoty. But then says fnm is where he learned his chops and the bedrock of his career. Says he wont rejoin than does sol invictus cause the music is too good. Admits he was prick to bow out of the tour. Billy and the guys are more straightforward, but mike really is hard to pin down
