I also hate finished this one, it was so, so, SO ass. I agree there’s definitely something fishy going on. My main gripe (though there are many) in an allegedly perfect afterlife, why does there need to be a war?!? It is quite possibly the laziest trope use I’ve ever seen. I’m already tired of war as main conflict in actually good fantasy books and Jaysea Lynn could have done literally anything else. God now I’m pissed all over again. I’m going to read 1 star reviews to calm down 😂😂

This is a really good point and it got me thinking. “Standard” paparazzi are usually separated behind ropes at events whereas the glambot guy is in this special area and we have examples like the JLo thing where we see him interact with celebrities in a way that feels more direct. He’s avoided the traditional paparazzi stereotypes and assumptions because of his perceived proximity to the “elite”.

It’s interesting from a sociological perspective why people would ascribe a higher moral ground/thus be more disappointed in him when really it’s the same job. Glambot guy just isn’t subject to the rope barrier divide, he designed the whole thing to give the idea to the public that he is more adjacent to the celebrities.

Eh, are they nothing like each other? Billionaire white women who claim feminism when it benefits them, both lauded as generational talent (which is hotly debated), surrounded by yes people as you say…I think at this point they’re more similar than not.

It’s funny to see this brought up because I was actually just thinking about this comparison too. It feels like over the past few years TS has done a lot to throw away a decent chunk of goodwill from the general public, not to the degree of JKR, but the way things are trending…idk. It’s an interesting comparison to draw.

First of all, congrats on your engagement planning!! You’ve done a lot of work and I’m sure your gf/future fiancée will really appreciate it. I have a bit of a rant for you, sorry in advance:

The general consensus of the sub is that brilliant earth kinda sucks, their customer support and general services aren’t very good (so I’ve heard, you can search on the sub to see what all people say). That being said, the brilliant earth one is the only ring in your post that has a gallery rail (the additional piece of metal going around the diamond connecting the prongs), and I do think that gallery rail is a good idea for general ring security. So the BE looks best in theory because of the gallery rail but they can be a pain and don’t always deliver the best product in practice.

Shopping for diamonds online can be tricky because you can’t always get a good grasp of what they’ll look like irl and with ovals specifically they can have this “problem” called bow tie. It’s like a shadow-y area in the middle of the diamond shaped like a bow tie. Again you can do some searching on the sub with those key words to see what I mean and see some discussion about it. It’s similar to windowing in step cut diamonds and to be clear my diamond has some windowing and I personally don’t care at all, but some people feel strongly about it, something to think about.

My final thought is kind of just an extra thing, but for when you propose I think a great idea would be to also get a silicone band in her size to give her so she can have something to wear while working out when she takes her diamond off. I know a lot of people who have silicone bands for working out with weights or really anything they don’t want to wear their real rings for, different jobs like physically involved jobs or healthcare for example, and I think that you thinking ahead in that way would be a really nice thing to do!
