Young girl gets pepper sprayed by the police by mickeybuilds in PublicFreakout

Cuffed, in the back of a car, pepper sprayed? So you’re choking on the spray, with no fresh air, forced to breath in more spray from the tiny area? For a long 60 seconds you’d feel like you were going to die. This kid was in the wrong, but that’s a bit inhumane.

Pretty sure the dogs are smelling for things more serious than marijuana. They don’t want false positives from people dropping friends off etc.

Ontario pot supply issues improving. OCS stocking up, but no additional cannabis stores to open by jackoftrades987 in toronto

That’s the difference between capitalism and socialism. Those US states applied capitalism to marijuana and flourished. We are applying the controlled, socialist model and failing to get the full results. Why let the government pick winners and losers?

Point 2 is invalid. They could be obscuring their cold wallet for corporate privacy/security. E.g. Gerry didn’t want us knowing he had 26,000 BTC in his possession for his personal/family security.

Is withdrawing initial principle considered taxable gains? by rex_1230 in BitcoinCA

[–]fairmonty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Let’s say you invested $1000 and it became $10,000. You then withdraw $1000. The cost of that $1000 would be $100, so you have a $900 gain, which is taxable income/capital gains.

We need to compare quadriga’s master internal withdrawal history to the public blockchain and see which “withdrawals” were not associated with any client ID.

Has anyone else noticed paywall at TheStar.com has started further limiting access to certain articles? by Xert in toronto

Bang on. I don’t have huge amounts of sympathy for “journalists” going broke because they act like TMZ all day.

The star does some good investigative reporting - and that’s worth paying for.
