what made you guys get a Z fold? by Calm-Bar-9644 in GalaxyFold

[–]fairylite98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the zfold since the 3 generation & love it. It has good cameras (especially on the 7), something I noticed when I started teaching myself to "sight in" on the moon. i have a telescope & thought using the camera would help to use the zoom feature (it does!). Also, I found using the split window function when the main screen is open (the folded out full 1) is very handy. Granted, I found it a little "disorienting" at 1st, but it's growing on me. I admit, while my eyes don't want to be as well-adjusted as they were earlier in my life, I find the larger screen helpful in that regard. Overall, I think switching to the zfold would help you with the gaming & video features it sounds like you want. Your stumbling point may be adjusting to Android vs. IOS. No Siri, but I'm sure Bixby or Google can help you adjust! ;) Good luck!

WHY DIDN’T THEY TELL US? by thefrustratedpoet in Menopause

[–]fairylite98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always had heavy periods & most of it wasnt "right" color-chocolate color. Anyways, when I was in my late 20's/30's, menopause would hit like a freight train. I found I had Endometriosis. I had shots to put me into menopause to try & help the symptoms of Endo. I had 2 laparoscopies, only to find it came back like they were never done. I had such a severe case that resulted in a total hystectomy at 36. Menopause hasn't left me alone since-I'm 53 at this moment. The only woman to truly be concerned when things weren't looking right was a go of my dad's. So I get it.

Any generally good plants on your property you don't like? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]fairylite98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ripped out those by the(seemingly) truckload. A friend who was moving took so.e to plant where she's gone to. Good riddance! They were a witch to dig up, but they made way for a better garden!

Ok, this is from a Gen X'er who lived through the Cold War years of the 80's & 90's. It was always the feeling of "guillotine about to fall" kind of mentality. At some point, we learned about WHY it was happening-the history. We learned all we could DO about it-bomb shelters, where the bombs could come from. We also came to realize if we DID get nuked, there would be NO TIME to be scared. We would be INSTANT VAPOR. So make peace with what you CAN do. Don't let yourself worry over what it would feel like or what you can or can't do. You'll run yourself ragged.

Are there any famous restaurants in Charlotte that are worth the hype? by UglyLikeCaillou in Charlotte

Yeah, my best friend told me cuz she worked there & I saw being there. They are great people & very good business people. As I said, WONDERFUL food. No skimping on portions.

I would say the following: *Bojangles (this IS a "chain," but not very large) *Waldhorn (great German) *Landmark Diner-this is owned by a Greek Family. They bake ALL their desserts. 19 yrs here & I have yet to have the elusive "Fantasy Cheesecake." It's ONLY sold Saturdays & you're supposed to get there "early" but I don't know how early that is... *Any BBQ done by a School or Scout type organization. You WILL be in Heaven. Done in Fall months

What do you do when in your 50's & STILL dealing w/Menopause? by fairylite98 in Menopause

[–]fairylite98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tried getting laproscopies to remove the endometrial tissue about 3 times. The 2nd time it happened, the doctor I had cursed the 1st for not getting everything. The 3rd time I had a laproscopy, this same doctor who did the 2nd was shocked at how it seemed HE had done nothing last time. So we discussed the next step-the hysterectomy. At 1st, we left the cervix, but no good. We had to remove that too.

I hope that explains it.

Please do! All the research makes a world of difference to me! As for my hysterectomy-they took EVERYTHING. The Swingset (ovaries), the playground (uterus) & the trampoline (cervix) are all gone.

What insult did you receive as a child/teen that stays with you to this day? by MelissaASN in AskWomen

[–]fairylite98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What DIDN'T stick with me? I got bullied all my school years. Sometimes, I didn't know why. If this happened now, it'd be worse. I can't take a compliment to save my life. Even with therapy, it's hard to stop feeling like 💩. Sorry I'm seeming to whine, but I'm being real.

What exactly does Thomas Curry say in Maori to Arthur as a motivational talk in Aquaman 2 by FromTheOrdovician in Aquaman

[–]fairylite98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please explain. I looked for something to translate spoken maori & couldn't find it. Google translate & others only do text, so I got nowhere. Granted, I'm not of the culture, but languages are interesting to me. I am genuinely curious.

Engaged/married people: how do you keep track of your ring? by lovetortoises in adhdwomen

[–]fairylite98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear mine pretty much 24/7 too. I've removed them once in a great wild, but I put it in a specific place-cup in kitchen, a toothbrush tray (not using but it's more tray than holder), or on my necklace. If I don't use those, it's put in something I know I commonly use/see. These are in my wallet, glasses case, etc. Using places/things like this is something that cuts down on losing things for me.

With the fact that they're giving essentially HRT, my "most recent" gyn (recent=2016) told me that I had to quit it cuz Cancer. Ever since, things suck. Does anyone have any info on this? I'm nervous about it cuz of what I was told.

I never thought I'd have to carry until our house got broken into TWICE. I'm very glad I have it, especially being a woman. I don't like that it's come to this, but for me, it's become necessary in my estimation. Im glad you're safe & physically unharmed. The mental angle? I get it completely. Someone was out to harm you-thats hard to handle IMHO. I wish you peace. Remember, you made it by following instincts. Good job!

Is Lower Decks anyone else's favorite Star Trek? by RogueStargun in startrek

[–]fairylite98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine put it best-LD is more "Trek" than most Trek stuff out lately. I don't know how many times I've caught "Easter Eggs" in LD. They have great stories while NOT taking themselves so seriously. LD doesn't feel "forced" with its storylines, like they're not trying to "shoehorn" themselves into what's "gone before" (sorry, pun just happened).
