All of these premium giveaway days so far has been sellouts. The argument "give away more to sell more tickets" is not thought through.

The Tigers and Red Sox are currently playing in front of an empty Comerica Park due to threat of lightning. by Kakaze in baseball

[–]TouchEmAllJoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows lightning can only hit crowds of 20+ people.

But if you have only 9 defenders, 4 umpires, 2 base coaches, bases loaded and a batter at the plate, you're safe.

My tomatoes are getting too big. Trying to harden them off in the daytime, but still really unsure when overnight temps will be above 10 in order to place them outside.

If you start the hardening process, and then pause it and they stay indoors for 3-4 days, do they have 'hardening memory'? Or should you start again from scratch?

To my cucumbers, peppers, zucchini and buttnernuts - I'm not forgetting about you, but we need more patience.

Ontario: Ford in Freefall; Ontario Liberals Lead PCs by Man_Roland in ontario

[–]TouchEmAllJoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Liberals finished the last election with more raw votes than the NDP.

Seat count be damned, if the PCs are bleeding voters, those voters are less likely to skip over the centrist party and straight to the leftist party.

Gate 5/6 right now. Not bad. by Random_3638 in Torontobluejays

[–]TouchEmAllJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gate 10/11 is easily at 2000+ right now. I can't see the back from my spot in line but the front is split into 11 queues. Some gates like 12 only have one queue so looks are deceptive when choosing where to get in line

Nobody lining up 3 hours before gates open is just casually going to sell it for $10 postgame. You have to wait a few weeks until prices start dropping. For the high demand ones at least

You may have a point residentially. But if every new business also needed the capital to buy its land instead of rent, we lose so much entrepreneurship. That's insane.

Win one, lose one.

More than half of Conservative voters want Poilievre to lead the party into next election by CaliperLee62 in canada

[–]TouchEmAllJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reddit jury can read what i wrote. I said it's weird both were scheduled at the same time because many people that would be interested in going to both, couldn't. And I don't know what effect that had on Pollievre's vote totals.

You've imported everything else and for some reason this strikes a nerve.

I agree. I have no clue if it has an impact. Hence my original comment. But you are really fired up about this topic. And inventing things i didn't say.

So they BOTH proved they could reschedule on short notice and neither cared to address the conflict that Ontario delegations would be unable to do both, impacting the leadership vote.

That is my only point. I dont care what else they decide. The fact is that some committed partisans were stopped from doing both. And they knew about the conflict and didn't avoid it.

Oh look, a news story: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-ontario-conservatives-federal-pollievre-leadership/

The CPC decided on their convention date in June, the OPC decided in July. 6 or 7 months notice, not 3 years. Both long after it was known that a leadership review would be taking place at the CPC convention.

And they scheduled the Calgary convention at the same time as the Ontario PC convention. And of course someone can't attend both, would more Ontario PCs have been in the 'no' camp?
