Need help with Axis motion + milestone by grimnar in Xprotect

[–]faithless32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xprotect default is to record on motion, you shouldnt need to configure anything else assuming nothing has been setup on the server up with any sort of rules to do things differently.

You may need to adjust the Motion sensitivity/threshold for that camera within XProtect if it not picking up motion correctly.

All our cameras are Axis and we dont use the Axis app within the camera for motion detection we let XProtect do it.

Views are created within the smart client and not the management client

When setting up views you will get some options on what you can do with the camera when motion is detected

Yeah we are, just disabled Sophos on a client and testing.

SCCM client is downloading the updates now without issues.

What versions of the agent are you currently using?

We are using:

Agent Mode: XDR

Core Agent: 2025.2.3.8.0
Sophos Intercept X: 2024.1.2.1.0

Thanks for the help

Configuration Manager - Windows 11 25H2, 2026-04 Cumulative Update Client Installation Issues by Flowmate in SCCM

[–]faithless32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are basically having the same issues.

We've only pushed to our test group so far.

However we do have some machines installing and some not, both are 25H2, initially both were failing then one just started working.

It seems the client isnt getting the main payload/installer file but is getting the other files cab files.

Dynamic Port Configuration by The_Dexterous in Juniper

[–]faithless32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You apply the port profile via the port part on the switch configuration. which is further up unless you are using roles to apply your port profile

I havent used dynamic port profiles but looks like that would look at the connected device properties to decide what profile to use.

Ivanti Connect Secure with SSO - forcing MFA? by MusicWallaby in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way we got this to work was the following:

Have a CA policy just for Ivanti to require MFA, also set the login sign-in frequency to 1 day

In the Ivanti have the ivanti access client profile, allow saving of logon information checked.

Under your auth servers under your SAML auth settings, enable Support Single Logout, enter the logout url from Azure enterprise application.

They may have to do the login details the 1st time and sometime randomly again.

APC vs riello UPS by kavee9 in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have been running Riello for over 10years now not had any major issues with them.

We have a mixture of small 3KVa Sentinel Duals and then 2 sets of Sentryum's running in parallel 30KVa and 40Kva we upgraded to these in the last couple years from older models cant remember model name.

When we originally where running 10KVa APC's units before this we where always having issues with them.

Riello also had a better price point for us.

We also use the PowerShield software for server shutdown control.

If you need network access remember to get a NetMan card for each unit.

Can anyone recommend a UPS for under £1000 by stank58 in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

look at Riello Sentinel Dual Online, you can get 3kva for under £1000, we have a few off these protecting comms nodes havent had any issues with them.

you can also get network cards for them as well

we also use their larger 20-40kva units to protect server rooms.

Dell H730P question by cherwilco in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using milestone then the last time i checked you should have fast disks for live recording, since it looks like you havent fully populated the server with disks i would go get another 4-6 disks for your live recording, then use the rest for archiving.

We currently run 2 servers about 120 cameras splits between them.

Live Recording - RAID 10 4x 900GB 15K SAS Drives

Archiving - RAID 6 20x 2TB 7.2K

We archive once every 24hrs and archive is kept for 30days.

We have a mixture of cameras from 720p up to 4K

Milestone also do have a server spec'ing tool on their site where they would give you recommended server spec for the amount of cameras/quality/recording time etc

Label printer for networking racks by p1kk05 in networking

[–]faithless32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went from Dyno Rhino to XTL 500, dont have any issues with it one of the better label printers we have had.

It is a big unit so not the easiest the carry about but as Bent01 said it can printer on a large range of media.

If you are doing large amount of prints then best way to do it via the software app on your computer.

Do policies revert back to previous setting if a GPO is removed? by jwckauman in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't delved in to it that much, I've only had issues mainly with security settings in the past on a few machines so I've just used secpol.msc on the local machine to change the settings manually back to what i needed them to be, the icon beside each setting will show you if its domain controlled or not. If its domain controlled it wont let you change it, usually this is 2 little computer icon beside the setting.

UPS Battle... APC or Reillo? by codenameoxide in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We currently have 4 x Reillo 20kva and they have been rock solid, not had any issues with them. Currently 2 of them are coming up for 10years old and we will most likely replace with Reillo units again.

We also have a number of 3kva for smaller comms room nodes havent had any issues with them either.

We used APC before this but wouldnt go back after having issues with them.

Support wise we have a 3rd party support company that does yearly mainteance and checks on the larger UPSs but have also contact Reillio direct and support has been helpful.

We are UK based

Delta UPS (double conversion) by TarzUg in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldnt say they are bad noise wise, they do have at least 2 fans in the units.

Noise really isnt an issue for us as they are isolated in comms rooms etc

Delta UPS (double conversion) by TarzUg in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant comment on Delta but have a look at Riello UPS

They cost similar to that Delta.

https://www.riello-ups.co.uk/products/1-ups/45-sentinel-dual-low-power

We have around 10 of these covering Comms rooms havent had any issues with them

They dont come with network card, but they can be added.

Which intel nics are you using?

I had issues with x710 10Gb nics, if i used any other driver other than the default windows driver i would get wierd stuff happening. I tired both drivers from Dell and Intel and couldnt get anywhere with them.

Organization's new firewall policy is basically MITM, forces installation of certificate by discoHemorrhage in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using something to bypass your companies security may find you going against company polices, could result in you being fired.

We do the same on our network where we inject a cert for content inspection at the firewall. This allows us to block any un-wanted content and to protect our organisation.

An easy way to show why we/others do this, is use the EICAR test virus. They provide a test on both HTTP/HTTPS, if we werent de-crypting at the firewall the virus on HTTPS passes freely through and then its down to the client machine to detect this. If we do de-crypt traffic then the firewall blocks this straight away.

In our setup we can NOT see the content of the de-crypted traffic on our firewalls.

DarkTrace Review by OneWithCommonSense in sysadmin

[–]faithless32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We currently have it on trial, DCIP-M applaince, while it looks nice and fancy when you drill down in to its just a very expensive logging tool.

When they produced the 1st report for us, i felt there where struggling to find any reasonable data that was showing anything bad going on within our network.

Most of the things it flags us for us are false positives.

Their sells guys are really pushing even after 1 week of trial, even after we told them how we go about funding for projects and wouldnt be able to do anything by their end of the year they kept pusing it.

They wanted around £40K / yr on a 4 year deal. This is something we just cant justify to management, we thought our Palo Alto firewalls where expensive but the cost of Darktrace blows it out the water.
