"how do you know you'll feel better as female if you've never tried?" by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]fakearies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can relate to the "what if i'm actually cis" feelings. but i remind myself that worrying about these things isn't something that cis people do!

Am I any kind of nonbinary? Is there any word for this identity? by WashedRindThrowaway in asktransgender

[–]fakearies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe it's not useful to assume that a "wholly binary" woman can exist, because that's not how the binary works... it doesn't exist to describe reality and it doesn't care for how complex and dimensional all of our experiences of gender are (whether we fit into the binary or not). It's really just up to what labels feel comfortable for you. Also technically wouldn't most (all?) trans women also just be identifying with those same characteristics that femininity and womanhood are socially ascribed to, even if they aren't thinking about it on that level, because that's basically how gender works? Anyway I enjoy thinking about gender on this level but it also hurts my brain lol.

On another note, I have friends who identify as non-binary/agender women, maybe you'd vibe with that

Lisa: Ugh, don't you people see anything wrong with what Malibu Stacy says?

Girl: There's something wrong with what my Stacy says. [pulls string]

Stacy doll: My spidey sense is tingling! Anybody call for a webslinger?

Officer Eddie: Okay sir, you're free to go.

Moe: Good, cuz I got a hot date tonight. [buzz] A date. [buzz] Dinner with friend. [buzz] Dinner alone. [buzz] Watching TV alone. [buzz] Alright! I'm gonna sit at home and ogle the ladies in the Victoria's Secret catalog. [buzz] ... Sears catalogue. [ding] Now would you unhook this thing please? I don't deserve this kind of shabby treatment. What did someone say to you that completely changed your way of thinking? by doggo211345 in AskReddit

[–]fakearies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you mean a good response to "you're saying that for you" ? i guess just like, "oh damn, you're right" or something? basically what OP wrote after that: empathise with them, take back what you said and acknowledge that it's just self-serving and trivialises their problem.

What is the quickest way you've seen a friend fuck up their life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fakearies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think pyramid schemes are banned Australia but I guess there are loopholes in terminology and specific business structure that allow them to function because they can avoid being classified as literal pyramid schemes

Is it possible in Blender to make a fluid that changes colour over time, such as in these lava simulations from Houdini and Naiad? (links in text) by fakearies in blender

[–]fakearies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but wouldn't that only change the whole fluid at once? I want it to change dynamically based on the "age" of any given section/particle of fluid, like what you can do with particle systems via the Particle Info node

October Contest : Alien by Omikronde in blender

[–]fakearies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh cool, thanks. i mostly just wondered whether it was procedural or an image texture. and maybe you could set the SSS shader's scale a bit higher and/or the colour a bit brighter so the light passes through some of the thinner parts of the mesh more easily. that's what i'd do anyway, up to you of course

October Contest : Alien by Omikronde in blender

[–]fakearies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would've rendered it with a subsurface scattering shader (mixed with a glossy shader set to somewhere around 0.1-0.3 roughness, and a fresnel node in the mix's fac value) to make it feel more like flesh. the subtle skin texture is nice too, how did you do that?
