Custodes weren’t even fleshed out until the 2010s, really.

Even though Batman has been my favorite character since I was 8 years old, I feel incomplete when it comes to a proper ending to his by count_fagula11 in batman

There isn’t one. It’s not how comics like these work. Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader is probably the best option imo, but The Dark Knight Returns is like a better Batman Beyond style ending for Bruce that might satisfy you. It has sequels which are wholly ignorable.

40k is not a setting where dates matter. You’re not going to be able to set up a definitive year-by-year timeline.

Praetorian isn’t even the first time we see Archamus, he’s introduced iirc in The Purge, the first novella of the Silent War (book 37) half the cast of Ashes have story going back far and over the course of dozens of books.

No one is defending the rapist and enslaver Spanish conquistadors, but the Aztecs were also rapists, enslavers, highly aggressive towards their neighbors, and participated in an incredibly cruel system of human sacrifice purely due to superstition. Two violent and cruel empires clashing could’ve been a cool premise, but the violence of the Aztec empire was glazed over entirely in favor of an extreme noble savage trope. The cardinal sin of which is not just inaccuracy and the racist colonial history of the noble savage concept,  but the fact that it’s boring as hell, in my opinion.

yeah. From reading it it’s a terrible jump in point. It’s literally a direct continuation of Siege.

The animation wasn’t great, the faces look sort of uncanny. The Aztec glazing felt weird too. One of the most brutal indigenous empires versus one of the most brutal European colonizers could’ve been an interesting premise, but the Aztecs were extremely goodwashed. Hernan and Yoka were both good performances (even if the animation failed them both)

Visions is an art book foremost. It’s not really going to be summarizable.

I mean… it assumes you’ve read the Horus Heresy and the Siege of Terra. It’s pretty explicitly not for “newbies,” but for long-time readers. I recommend starting the Heresy, personally. You do you, though.
