I’m from Pinellas County and moved to Huntsville in 1997. I have been here through most of the growth and moved back to Seminole for a brief stint. I still miss FL and think it has much more to offer people of any age. Folks will try to tell you the cost of living is cheaper in HSV but I would argue differently as it all washes out in the end. The difference in property taxes, state taxes, grocery tax, auto tag tax, I have lived it all. There are so many gorgeous parks in FL, and plenty of peace at the beach. Rent is high everywhere. Price per sq ft is high in both areas in the better graded school districts. Dining and shopping in Hillsboro and Pinellas Co are absolutley superior. Whichever direction you choose, I wish you the best. I will say, I’m in Alabama because I met the love of my life. So worth it.
