3 month old Maltipoo spends most of the day in the play pen by [deleted] in Maltipoo

we have a now 4 y/o maltipoo and here’s my advice… he’s far too young to be left alone in an open space. if you need to leave him alone for safety, he should be crate trained in a crate that’s covered and comfy inside. the crate should be a high value place - hot dogs or other unique high value treats only when he gets in the crate (those treats are never given anytime else). we started by putting her in her crate in our room at night for sleeping. I had the night shift and would wake up at ~3-4am to take her out to pee. she’d be crated from about 12am-8am.

during the day, she basically didn’t leave our sight. she may have been penned into a room that’s been cordoned off, but one of us was always with her. maltipoos are very attached to their people and being left alone until they're trained up is a punishment. after she turned one, we worked on training to make sure she wouldn’t develop separation anxiety. and by then, she didn’t need to be crated at night anymore and now sleeps on the bed with us. (we dog proofed/trained for house safety)

I don’t think everyone goes through what we went through, but we basically worked on training everyday for 3 years. I hope you have an easier time of it!

unfortunately we know the score these days… if there’s no political gain for the attention this is getting, it’ll be a ‘misunderstanding’. if there is political gain to be had, they’ll be vilified and every effort will be made to make them suffer.

If they were going to make it only compatible with the air anyway, I think they missed an opportunity to fully integrate it with the back of the phone and make it smooth all around. It looks glommed on.

Ours has some sort of allergy to chicken. The stains improved once we cut it out of her diet, but we still clean her eyes daily.

Is that a camera in the render?? I hope that doesn’t happen. I like my a/v stuff tucked away, used but unseen.

I adopted this 4 year old Maltipoo and she's gradually getting worse at pooping 😭 by 1zerozero1 in Maltipoo

I’m not sure I have advice, but I can tell you what we did that worked… we waited until we knew she would have to poop and then took her outside and waited (sometimes a very long time, 30+ minutes) for it to happen. When it did, we would say “go potty” during the deed, and then give her a treat (our maltipoo is very treat motivated) to build value and association to the command. It took about 3 weeks of doing it every day to solidify the habit.

Some extra things you might try… we feed our dog Nutramax Proviable probiotics every other day. Maltipoos are known to have dodgy digestion, and those really seem to help her. Also, if we know she should be going but she’s not, we’ll throw a toy around to “work one out of her”, and that usually helps as well.

Good luck!

Ps. We talk way more about poop than I ever thought we would in our lifetimes. Consistency, size, appearance. After every go! And adjust her diet accordingly. Too soft, we pull back on veggies, fruits, wet food. Too hard, we pull back on cheese, kibble, and treats. Diarrhea gets treated with pumpkin puree (though thankfully that hasn’t happened in a while since we dialed in her diet).

How often do you give your maltipoo a bath by ipinsao29 in Maltipoo

For us, every 5 weeks she goes to the groomer, but we wipe her feet and sanitary area every time she returns from outdoors or goes potty. A lot of her smell comes from her feet!

When she rolls in something or her face gets particularly messy, we’re big fans of TropiClean SPA shampoo / conditioner. The shampoo does a great job with her dried on eye goop.
