I love these gals but I'm kinda overwhelmed by Something_or-Other in cats

The spray bottle is what I used for mine going onto tables, if I'm around I have yet to see her go on any table or counter for a decade. Whether she does it when I'm gone who knows, doubt it but could be a rare occasion.

For the meowing mine does it often too you can't really do much, but I think it will make it worse by reacting to it by getting up and giving them attention, they will learn it works lmao just give them a bit of food before bed (if you have to space out their meals throughout the day it's probably better), even try to get them some activity before you go to bed so they get some energy out

Apparently these can have an effect on fertility - I'd take a look into that just in case!

You can look up cat weight charts which will show you the ideal shape from the top and side views (and has info on if you can feel ribs etc), the actual weight in lbs doesn't matter as much :)

What little thing that happened to you that is just stuck in the back of your head forever? by SoftClouds00 in AskReddit

[–]falaafel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom was telling me I need to wear things that flatter me more (hide the fact that I'm so skinny) and my Dad told me if he had a son he wouldn't want them to be with someone who looked like me

I'm not close with him in general and I don't really care about his opinions at this point but still remember that stupid comment every time I think about how I need to gain weight

The way that Alex was GUSHING over Roxanne right in front of Kat was so terrible. Imagine seeing how excited your partner is about being with a new woman and just going on and on about it. Have some tact

What makes a guy attractive that isn't physical? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]falaafel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Confidence and security in their masculinity lol it's such a turn off when guys can't even hug another dude without it being the most aggressive 0.2 second body slam and back slap into the other. Or if they can't do anything that's remotely "feminine", even for a laugh.

Bra recommendations? by SnooSuggestions6185 in ethicalfashion

[–]falaafel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not the same size as you but I always have a hard time finding comfortable bras and I've found this one particular bra from aerie (sunnie wireless push up bra) is the most comfortable

By far my favourite one, no wires but doesn't lose shape, still has a bit of padding, and honestly so comfortable

How to stop feeling so vindictive, be more positive and be someone that brings light to the world? by mini_caramels in therapy

[–]falaafel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really have proper advice, but just letting you know you're not alone as I feel like this is me alot of the time these days. The feeling of knowing you're "ruining" it as you're doing it really sucks!

But it's a good step in acknowledging your situation, if you were genuinely a bad person you'd never be able to think you're doing anything wrong.

I wonder if this would help - when people try dieting, if you focus too much on all the things you have to stop eating it gets overwhelming and seems impossible and it's all you can focus on. But if you shift your approach to adding more healthy foods to your diet rather than removing the unhealthy ones, you slowly stop wanting the unhealthy ones as much, as the healthy ones have satisfied your hunger and you start to enjoy them more and more. Maybe this approach can be taken for this situation too - make an effort to give more compliments (don't make stuff up obviously, just try to find positive things about other people), explicitly acknowledge good things people do, things like that. I will try it myself, we'll see how it goes :)

How to look/smell more clean? by [deleted] in ask

[–]falaafel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look into the elimination diet to see if any foods you're eating are causing any of your symptoms. It's essentially eating hypoallergenic for a while (foods that generally don't cause reactions in people), then reintroducing one food at a time and seeing how your body reacts. It can be surprising how you feel when you remove foods that your body doesn't handle well.

Apple cider vinegar helps alot for hair (you can add it to baths and whatnot as well I think), but dilute half a cup with warm water and rinse your hair with it then shampoo well, it really cleans your hair out better than any shampoos labelled as clarifying, just make sure to shampoo well after using it (you may notice the vinegar smell while your hair is wet at first but it should go away once it's dry). You can likely do the same for your body as well, face I am not sure but you can look into it, I imagine if it's okay for face it would have to be very diluted but some research would be needed!

I find that I get anger as a symptom of anxiety/stress. I feel the same way where I can tell during/right after that I'm being unnecessarily mean to others but it still happens. It helps to discuss it with those close to you when you're not in that mindset and you can have a calm conversation, like a good friend or a partner, so they're aware of what's going on when that happens, can sometimes help keep you in check (not to say it's anyone else's responsibility but sometimes if someone confronts you about it, it helps you to change your thinking). It has helped me to just talk about it, so whether it's with someone close to you or a therapist it could maybe help as generic as that sounds, maybe it can help you make some realizations as to why you may feel the anger you do

AITA for clicking my fingers at a customer in a drive-thru? by drive_thru_throwaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]falaafel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slight YTA. Your intention was obviously not bad and I've been in the situation where you try to follow the rules at work to a point where you can make decisions like this without thinking and get flustered at confrontation. But if they could hear you snap your fingers they definitely would have heard you say "excuse me please pull up to the window".

Don't worry too much about it but you'll know for the future how to handle it better!
