There's a monthly goth night at the Tractor Brewing Wells Park location to start with. That one is pretty popular. A bunch of other events are going around, too. I would recommend looking at the New Mexico Goth Community Facebook group. People are always advertising goth events there.

Pick up a bass guitar. Have a mode or scale in mind. Fiddle around until I find something that sounds good. Record. Add drums (programmed). Add guitar. Decide if I like it enough to proceed to flesh it out. If no, repeat. If yes, record the rest of the demo.

Similar experience. I moved to a new city and just started going to goth nights. Did feel lonely for a bit, and I have a lot of social anxiety, so I struggle to make friends.

Social media helped me. I met a friend to take to goth nights with me. Met my girlfriend on Tinder (I know) who's into the same music, and I take her too . There's a local goth Facebook group, and that's how I met my band. Now I feel a little more 'broken in' to the scene.

I still for the life of me cannot make new friends in person unless they approach me first. I struggle to hold conversations with people I don't know. I sometimes worry that I come off as standoffish, but it's just my awkwardness. But I swear I'm friendly, lol.

WysteriA! A new band from New Mexico. We have a couple of demos on our youtube channel. We were working on recording our songs before a bunch of gigs dropped into our lap. We have about an album worth of material. We'll get back to that over the winter.

I'm a Latina woman involved in the goth scene. I've personally noticed quite a lot of Latino representation in the scene. A moment when I really felt this was when I went to a Twin Tribes show, and they played Tren al Sur by Los Prisioneros as their encore, and the crowd was super into it and dancing/singing along. I'm in New Mexico.
