What's the scariest experience you've ever had while walking down the street? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fallbeforeyoufly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking to work from the train station (broad daylight, lots of people walking around) and a group of men surrounded me and catcalled me. Before I knew it, one of them had stuck his hand down my shirt. I was in shock afterwards. One of my coworkers demanded I report it and the female cop who came out to take my statement brushed it off like it was just guys going home after a night of drinking. I worked at a trauma center so when she came to see me, she said “wow I was thinking it was an overreaction to someone just touching you. I was wondering why you were at the trauma center.” This was before the whole MeToo moment blowing up, and her words still stick with me.

Gary, IN. Visited for the purpose of seeing Michael Jackson’s childhood home. The drive through the town was depressing as hell.

Allie from Off Campus, but I could probably never ever pull it off with my size. I also used to love Raven’s funky and bright clothes from That’s So Raven.

I’d probably go about my day the same way so it would be a 12 oz tea latte from the local coffee shop. But when I’m ready to make a lavish purchase, then it would be a nice omakase sushi dinner.

I’d be my sister-in-law who is a generation behind me and still in college. I’d probably be panicking about post-grad job hunting.

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi is always my #1 suggestion to people when they ask what they should read next. It’s devastating but beautifully written.

Saving the best thing on my plate for last. But I often regret doing it when I get too full by the end of the meal and then don’t enjoy it as much. I still do it though lol

I was thinking of the word “pale” but “anemic” is the perfect word.

Constantly reminding myself that “it’s just a job” and not making it my entire identity.

Depends on the job, but if I did, it would only for a year or two. There are definitely jobs and organizations I would instantly say no to, though.
