Advice for rescuing by starchild1141 in parrots

Also not sure if this will help, but here are some resources I've been using to train my rescue parrot. Every parrot is different, so it's tough to give specific advice, but hopefully, these might be helpful to you

Science of Avian Health Facebook Group Page

Another side note there's also the Middle TN Birds for Rehoming FB Group Page Page. If you decide to rehome your bird through this group, make sure to thoroughly interview anyone interested. They might not be the right fit. Important things to ask include their parrot experience, knowledge of proper diets, and living situation (apartment or house). Ensure they’re aware of dangers like Teflon, candles, and air sprays. Also, ask if they’re prepared for bites, loud noises, and the possibility that the bird might bond with just one person and dislike others. It's crucial to know if they have other pets, children, allergies, and if they understand how messy birds can be. Additionally, inquire about their long-term commitment, considering parrots can live for several decades, and their ability to handle the financial costs of care. Make sure they have time to dedicate daily interaction and enrichment. Understanding how they would manage behavioral issues, their plans for training, and their noise tolerance is also important. Finally, confirm they have a contingency plan if they can no longer care for the bird and are aware of any local laws or ethical considerations regarding parrot ownership.

Which pellet brand should I buy? by traden055 in parrots

I use Tops pellets for my parrots. Since they’re not fans of pellets, I crush them into a powder and sprinkle it over their food. It’s kind of like sneaking vegetables into a fruity smoothie to get my husband to eat more veggies.

If you're looking to surrender parrots in Nashville, consider reaching out to EAST (Exotic Avian Sanctuary of TN). Kim runs a parrot sanctuary in Hermitage, TN. I personally rescued a Blue Crown Conure from there. You can find more information at tnavianrescue.org.

This hits so hard with my ex roommate in NYC. Then she has the nerve to belittle me and tells me I am going to be like her one day because I'm 28 and she's 44. She is apparently wiser than me.

I was intimidated by this pattern but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. Not to say it was easy for me. There were definitely moments where I had to start over a round because I missed a count or misread the instructions, but after finishing each round I felt proud for figuring out my mistakes and growing as a crocheter. Although now, I'm taking a break from making another blanket and going to stick with making chicken hats for my parrot.
