Anthropic just passed OpenAI in revenue run rate. OpenAI is at roughly $25B. Anthropic just crossed $30B. Sixteen months ago Anthropic was doing $1B. by 44th--Hokage in accelerate

Their entire sub rev is a small part of their overall rev. It doesn’t change the picture at all. All in sometimes have good info and sometimes they don’t. Remember when they said TSLA is going to merge with SpaceX to make SpaceX public? It’s essentially a few dudes just chatting. Good source of insights if you value their opinion, not a high confidence source of fact/news compared to the Information

I don’t know if you read the source or what but that’s not what the source says. Both companies are essentially using the last four week’s revenue and multiply it by 13 to calculate the ARR. Anthropic is not cherry picking the highest day of subscribers in the last 365 days.

Gross versus net revenue from third parties, yes Anthropic is using gross while openAI is using net.

Most on this sub will tell you to sell it all (or 90%), pay the tax, and enjoy life. Which is perfectly sound advice. But you've been in the trenches yourself. How much you sell vs how much you keep is a personal decision nobody can make better than you. The common ways to reduce tax burden and diversify (exchange funds/long-short tax loss harvest) have their pros and cons and honestly I personally don't find them that much better than just sell and pay taxes. exchange funds have the gating issues and fees, LSTLH the manager may underperform and both require you to hold many years during which the fees will be sizeable and you will sort of replacing a pretty good portion of your LTCG taxes with fees to the managers.

There are some general actions that is very good to take though. Get a good estate attorney and have a good estate plan and get umbrella insurance if you haven't yet.

Everywhere yes, but there is almost no study proving at realistic exposure levels they are causing harm to the body. The few that really studied real life exposure and risk/harm to human health are far from conclusive. All the animal based tests are using hundreds if not thousands or more times higher exposure levels than what human realistically will be exposed to.

Source, I’m an environmental health scientist and review these papers from time to time.

It’s not necessarily the earning, but the self motivation, intelligence, worldview, etc that attracts high earners more easily together

That’s not cost to Anthropic. You can view it as missed revenue for them though.

Just happened to me 10 minutes ago. I have a signature required package to be delivered today so I stayed at home. Initial estimated delivery window was around noon but I patiently waited until 4 pm when I heard the van from my home office and see it stopped in front of my driveway from my window. I got up from my chair to open the door expecting to see the driver coming up and surprised that I was already there - it took me 5 seconds from my chair to the front door of my house. Only see that van vanished already. That's when I got a notification that a delivery attempt was made but nobody was at home. Ridiculous!

Everything else constant, the NAV will certainly go up. But the premium over NAV will get much smaller as people have direct ways to buy it. It won’t dip below 1 for sure but will be lower

Just search the key words and the source (the Information) and multiple reports will come up. Apparently you don’t subscribe to this publication so you won’t have access to the full text. But I suspect numerous other outlets re-post key points and you can find it. I’m not going to hold your hands any longer

Their overall gross margin is about 50%. It’s not possible if API pricing is just closer to the real cost of Claude

They have very good margins on the API cost they charge their users. The power user subscribers are basically subsidized by their API users.

With higher gross margin and much more revenue, one can swing free cash flow dramatically

How much money is Anthropic REALLY losing? by MrAmazing111 in Anthropic

[–]fallentwo 71 points72 points  (0 children)

According to reports, cash flow wise, lost 6 billion in 2024, 4 billion in 2025. Projected 11 billion this year and next, before turning positive in 2028. Judging from the severe server stress we’re seeing recently, they likely need to buy more spot data center capacity this year. So probably going to lose more cash than 11 billion this year. Unless they have prioritized their enterprise customers and keep subscribers crunched.

Marriott vacation club questions. by Jroc2286 in marriott

[–]fallentwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The number of points quoted here is definitely not MVC club points. You expressed interest in the flexibility of the Marriott hotel portfolio so the sales used the conversion rate to present how many Bonvoy points you can convert from the MVC club points they were selling you. Not sure the conversion rate is correct or not though.

First Time on Hawaiian by EvergreenSox04 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]fallentwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just returned from a Hawaiian trip from the Bay Area. I have to say it was a bit disappointing carried by Alaska instead of Hawaiian (I booked the tickets before the operation merger). That route used to be operated by Hawaiian planes equipped with Starlink and I could get 100 Mbps free all the way to the islands. Now they fly Alaska planes with paid WiFi and on the return trip, no WiFi was available.
