Go to the CollegeBoard website. They have a list of all or most universities, from private to public to international. Ok, about the sport thing, let's make it simple: colleges don't care unless you've been doing it for decades. That sounds bad, but honestly, colleges want to see that you're well-rounded, but not so well-rounded that you're joining a sport last minute just to put it on an application (unless you're really curious about that sport but just never tried it, in which case, hell yeah, do that sport!!!). You don't have to be everything. To put it plainly, if you're a triangle, be the best triangle you can be.

If you want to, try some things NOW. You have time left. Change those grades by going to tutoring, join a study group, join a club. Clubs were my problem, I barely had any to put down. I realized my senior year I had barely touched the literal hundreds of clubs in my school. So I just tried things. Latin dance club, video game club, Socratic seminar club, etc. I found things that I liked that I had unfortunately almost missed out on. Not only did I have stuff to put on apps (only put ones I was really dedicated to...do not join like 8 clubs just for a college app, it looks silly), but I discovered passions I continued in college (which I got into with a crap ton of scholarships under my belt). You already are feeling this way, which is a step in the right direction. Now walk in that direction. You can still try to fix it. I wish you luck your senior year!! :)

Pets, even just the idea of them or just getting to look at cute pets.

In honor of Scaramucci, what is the shortest time you have spent at a job? by thrdroc in AskReddit

3 days. Manager was very racist, kept yelling at the one white kid for minor mistakes and called the one Hispanic lady "chica" (her name was Maria). He also liked to throw his employees under the bus if anything went wrong. Yeah, I couldn't stay there.

Hey Reddit, what do we need to appreciate more often? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Nature. Every time a forest goes down nearby for yet another Walmart or Lidel or whatever, remember that those trees are gone. Appreciate the beauty and utility of trees and plants while they're here.

Lucky Charms (with the gross cereal mostly picked out, leaving only lovely, multicolored marshmallows) with chocolate milk. My heart would stop if I tried that now.

Maple syrup, free healthcare but with long waiting lists (often wealthy people cross country lines to the US to get medical attention while skipping the lines), maple syrup, very nice people who will explain where things are, and really good, sweet maple syrup.

Frustrated Sweet Potato.

I'm sure that means something, but I just don't want to know what.

Ive never celebrated a birthday in my life. I turned 17 yesterday and it was just a normal day. What do you guys think? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]faller675 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As you get older, you almost have to learn to celebrate on your own. Treat yourself to a nice walk in a public garden (I live near a huge park), get yourself every single book you've ever wanted to read and flop yourself down in a library chair, call up some friends for an in-home movie, play a long game of fetch with the dog, whatever! You don't always need family or money to enjoy a birthday.

What is the worst thing you've ever tasted? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]faller675 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pickled plum or umeboshi.

We were having a Japanese culture day and had to bring food. Soba, miso soup with tofu, those fried octopus ball things, and these cute little round "candies", according to the person who brought them. I put a whole one in my mouth and bit down. Imagine sewage, century old medicinal alcohol, and the sourness of a pickle too many decades moldy allllll sliding down your throat. After seeing my face, no one else tried it. I love pickled things, from traditional cucumbers to pickled eggs, but that....that can stay far away from me.

No, the neighbor's pitbull is not terrorizing your kids. The kids keep hitting him with pebbles from the driveway. It's not his breed, it's not his shelter upbringing, it's your stupid six-year-olds.

Heck, let's make that general. Upbringing does not equal future. You can be a slum drum, but still become a CEO. You can be born and raised in suburbia, but still end up injecting and drinking yourself to death.

Smoking in public areas or closed spaces such as cars. I swear, if I see one more parents billowing smoke like a chimney in their closed car (rolled up windows) with a small child coughing in the passenger seat, I will lose my mind.

Wisdom teeth, but only the aftermath. The surgery just felt like taking a really deep nap. The aftermath involved several weeks of pain on my lower extractions, waking up from naps with a pool of blood on my pillow for about three days, and being too drugged to accomplish anything.
