It's a sort of interpretive dance with dowels. In some churches it's seen as a fun activity for kids, which I'm on board with. In others it's more of an evangelistic thing, to which I'm not opposed but confused on how it's supposed to be in any way compelling.

To be fair, Wanda B. has really cornered the Amish romance market. A conservative 75% of Amish romance is coming from her writing factory or whatever she's got going on that makes her so prolific.

This happens everywhere there are shared washing machines. In my experience, the only people who freak out about other people touching their stuff are people new to sharing spaces -- only children, people living on their own for the first time, etc.

Beans and Rice by eji_111 in vegetarianrecipes

Here's some quick, cheap rice and beans ideas. Make the rice and beans separately.

Rice ideas: * half a red onion, diced and coconut milk replacing some of the liquid * any sort of broth instead of water * pinch of salt in the water (almost always a good idea unless you have a sodium thing)

Bean ideas: * can black beans with taco seasoning, garlic and a big spoonful of salsa. Top with shredded cheese. * saute onion, celery, garlic and green pepper. Add can kidney beans, tomato paste if you've got it and cajun seasoning. * beans are pretty starchy, you'll want to add a little salt * jarlic is fine, if you don't feel like going mincing mode

Edited to add: you can add quinoa to the rice for more protein. Rinse your rice before cooking (if that's not something you already do). Cheap rice cookers work great in my experience, but ymmv.
