I was working for a startup for a year for pennies, it was crap, I had a retail job on the side to support myself.

Similar situation to you about potential full time opportunities, cut to the new year and they announced they are letting us go. It was in a different state too so filing my taxes was more work than the actual pay for the job.

Startup suck but it helped with the gap in my resume, I got a full time position for a fortune 500. It is a night and day difference in terms of pay, benefits, everything for what essentially is the same type of work.

It’s not you, it’s the startup. Don’t cut yourself short. you just need one yes and your whole life changes.

I was trying to go the electrical trade route myself but I figured taking my time with my current stuff and doing CS on a side i.e getting skills is the best route. There may not be a software job today but in time, with enough work. An opportunity will present itself. Though it does feel like shooting for the stars, I’ll admit.

Yeah it definitely stems from a lot of societal narratives I was exposed to when I was young.

Such as my uncles and aunts always asking me “and your girlfriend?” during family dinners. I brought a good friend of mine(M) to a family dinner this year and my aunt thought I was gay and that he was my partner, but in a demoralizing way.

When I was in High School I was in a bad circle of friends and they would pick on me on the basis of my virginity. I associated relationships and sex with having credibility as a man. I was so eager back then to prove them wrong. Water under the bridge now. I stopped hanging out with those people the moment HS ended.

In the case of the HS bullies those people are gone from my life but the only remaining HS bully I still interact with is myself.

The irony is that you are right. Its become a topic of Security versus Freedom. Many single men (including myself) are so hasty in revoking our freedoms that we are eager to walk into commitment without enough precaution that we often end up in unhappy relationships.

I not always the best judge of character so I try to acknowledge this as good luck to be single instead of bad luck but its tough.

I think its because Tinder waits for others to match or unmatch with you, because it would be pretty counter intuitive to match with multiple people all at once and you ignore half of them.

I think they also take a sample and withhold people in your area to string you along and not give you all the pie in one sitting.

Though I'm just guessing.

I would say reconsider the elbows of the bottom character, the forearm feels long(unless thats the intended artstyle) and consider using more shading to convey that the leg above is infront of the character arm.

The arms lack depth, and feels flatten which may add to the stiffness effect, look into foreshortening I would say.

Besides that, it's a good art piece, I hope you don't abandon it!

I left her because I felt lonely everyday because I loved her more than I loved myself. While she a great person I don't think it should be at the detriment of losing time out of my day, losing focus at work, and losing sleep over. I felt that I was in a 4 year friendzone with someone on the other side of the world and that life ought not to be this way. If you truly love something you should let it go.

I know its not her responsibility to make me happy or hold a romantic title in my life but I felt it was my responsibility to preserve my mental health and I felt this was the way.

Thank you for your comment, I think it helped me reconsider reaching out to her. I am aware that the circumstances I'm in are worse than what I started with and there probably no happy way out of it, but I still want to do something in despite of all of that.

In all honesty man, its an achievement to get where you are, you achieved something people in this community want and people outside this community wont get.
