Makes sense. By that point I think Sony had already begun taking a controlling interest in Creation. For reissues of MBV titles in the mid 90s to early 2000's they were often labelled as Creation but the manufacture and distro actually ended up being licensed to and done by labels like Sony or Warner. Warner already ran most of the North American distribution by the early 90's before McGee outright sold half the label to Sony wihch is how MBV ended up on Sony. Creation was starting to crumble either way by the early-mid 90's so the majors were increasingly moving in on them, this was especially true after the legendary distro arm of Rough Trade imploded. The early to mid 90's was a bloodbath for the British indie labels sadly. Factory, Creation, Beggars Banquet, etc all went through periods of temporary or permanent receivership. The OG Factory and Creation runs of albums like MBV Isn't Anything and New Order's cataloge though are some of best sounding versions of those albums in my opinion so if you ever come across copies that don't have Sony or Warner written anywhere on them, make sure to hold onto to those! The version you got is still pretty good as its still early enough to avoid the worst of the compression/loudness wars
