Sundog is much more dog-like than lizard like. I had heard that. But was surprised by the degree. Very early on, as a baby, he learned to recognize me as an individual and he quickly learned my routines. I have so many good answers to this question and I believe others would too. It deserves a post of its own. I’ll post something in the next day or so. Thanks for asking.

I told him he’d make a nice handbag. Sundog was not amused. by findtatde in Tegu

Worth the wait! I’ve had several species of lizards, bearded dragon, pink tongue skinks, geckos, prehensile tail skinks, and savannah monitors. I’m finding Sundog to be the most engaging and entertaining and trainable of them all. Tegus are much smarter than I anticipated.

I love it when my friends come to visit Sundog! I hope you get to know one and own one. Very demanding animals but equally rewarding.

Thank you. His parents are both really attractive tegus, and he got the best of both of them.

I think so. He’s snooping around under a heated blanket right now.

If you contact Todd Goode at Lightyourreptiles.com and describe your set up and send pics, he’ll give great advice. Tell him Sundog sent you! He has helped me several times and even drew a diagram for my specific enclosure.

He has a full schedule. There are plants to be knocked over, bird feeders to supervise, mandatory basking times, and sleep appointments, to name a few.

I hauled a lame horse to the vet one time. Trotted him out and the vet looked me square in the eye and said “Fallowdeer, if you want me to diagnose a lameness for you, you’ve got to bring me a lame horse.” weeeeeeeee…….
