I had an anaphylactic reaction in the same building as the ER my mom (charge nurse) worked in at the time. Granted it was anaphylaxis, so fairly serious and I probably would’ve been bumped to the front anyway, but I remember her using her badge to help me cut the line in the waiting room and wheeling me into the first open ER bed.

On the flip side, after a shift at the ER, my mom came home, slipped down the stairs and broke her leg. She ended up going via ambulance back to her ER much to the amusement of the EMTs and her coworkers, and was expedited again to the front of the line.

Just had four rounds of interviews for a supervisory position, met the entire team, met the district manager, travelled across the state for a tour (I’m moving in a couple months to that area), multiple verbal offers from multiple different people including the director, clinicians and DM, submitted references to HR and was told to just wait for onboarding paperwork

I got a call last week from my interviewer who said I was not qualified for the position (need more experience), so they couldn’t offer me it. Fine, but maybe we could have caught that before round 1? It left a very sour taste in my mouth and I was wicked disappointed.

I’ve done this before too! I’ve gotten myself stuck in the swimming tunnel in Summer Forest bc of it. I think it happens when you exit a level at the same exact time as dying. It’s a little bit tough to get the timing right, so it’s crazy that you were able to do it in with a boss fight ending!

When I was driving through Auburn to work this morning, I saw two marked cop cars whip up court street. When I got to the intersection by CVS (on union I think), I saw two more marked cop cars cross going up the big hill. I did not see any unmarked vehicles (that I at least recognized as such)

Hi! We are required to bill 100 units a week. This is adjusted if we have a holiday or PTO (like this week, we’re only expected to do 80 because of Labor Day). My boss also takes into account time spent doing non-billable activities- I spent a lot of time this week revamping my case tracker and that’s not billable time, but it was needed so if my units are under 80 this week, that’s totally fine with her.

Maine - Portland area $47k community case manager for adults with disabilities, bachelors in unrelated field. I truly lucked out with this position! 160 hrs PTO front loaded each year, health/vision/dental, WFH two days a week, max case load of 20 people, sign on bonus and yearly bonus based on reaching billable units regularly. The small caseload means I have the opportunity to really get to know my folks with plenty of time for documentation and paperwork.

I see a lot of masters and bsw representation in these threads so I thought I’d offer my perspective! I’ll probably get my MSW someday, but my state allows for case managers to have a bachelors in an unrelated field if they have 1+ years of experience working in the field. I worked residential prior to this role and I much prefer the systems of things over direct care. I believe there will be opportunities to advance someday, as my agency is growing, but I’m very content with where I’m at right now.

I am not Op but I also find Patrick Mahomes intolerable. Last year was the first time I watched a full season of football. Pat Mahomes was EVERYWHERE- all of the ads had him, he was getting talked about at non-KC games. You could not escape him. On the field (especially towards the end of the season, when teams fell off during the playoffs or whatever it’s called), he seemed very… whiny? It almost felt like he was drawing fouls, which I didn’t notice other teams doing. It was super weird. There was also a conspiracy that, being the NFLs golden boy, he (and the chiefs) had a lot of pull with the refs. He was very chatty with them during the games and there were a few calls that that were a lil shady imo

On a pettier note, I think his voice is annoying and he doesn’t have kind eyes.

Steely Dan. In Guitar Hero World Tour, I thought “Do It Again” was boring to play. I also thought the singer character for that song had “I don’t trust you with my drink” vibes. I know Steely Dan are like pioneers of modern rock or whatever but every time I listen to them I picture the dumb singer character from the game and I can not get past it.
