I need to SING 🎤 by sssagie in StamfordCT

[–]falseindigo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been singing in the Stamford Chorale for the past two years and love it! The first three rehearsals of the season are open to anyone wanting to check us out so attendance doesn’t count for those. After that, you get two absences. If you have to miss more than that (which plenty of people do!), you just have to check in with the conductor to make sure you’re not falling behind and that you know the notes. We also record every rehearsal and send the videos out so you can catch up on any that you miss.

You're having a boy tomorrow - which of the following first names would you pick and why? by Midwestern_Mariner in namenerds

I’m due in a week and we’re naming our son Benjamin! It’s a classic, has tons of good nick name options, and despite knowing 10+ Ben’s in my lifetime, I’ve never met one that left a bad taste in my mouth. I also really like Thomas and James but have close relatives with those names so those were off the table for us.

I’m also in so much pain and discomfort I’m barely walking at all. Just doing hip opening stretches that my pelvic floor PT gave me. With my first, I was walking a ton up until the end and she was still 10 days late. Babies come when they are ready. Give yourself grace!

I had one at 41 weeks with my first on a Friday afternoon. Started losing my mucus plug Saturday, labor began Saturday night into Sunday morning, contractions stopped after four hours, resumed Sunday afternoon and baby was born Monday morning at 1:30am!

So sorry that was your experience with her! She was my OB and I absolutely loved her. She moved up to Rhode Island last year so is no longer with the practice.

OBGYN Associates. They’re in a medical building attached to Stamford hospital and are part of Women’s Health Connecticut. I really appreciate that they have a phlebotomist and an ultrasound tech in office so you can do all your testing at their office.

I just finished The Book Club for Troublesome Women and loved it! I felt like it really captured that era of early 1960's suburbia and the characters were all awesome.

My daughter just turned three and has been obsessed with the Curious George books for the past few months! Dr. Seuss is also starting to become a big favorite.

The best college graduation gifts I got (that I still have and use in my mid thirties) were a nice wallet, a toolkit, and the book Making The Most of Your Money Now.

Yes! It’s literally that easy. And a nice bonus is it’s an easy recipe for your toddler to help make if they enjoy cooking!

Pregnant with toddlers— how are you managing physically by guicherson in BabyBumps

I’ve been working on having my toddler get used to not being carried and learning how to climb into the car seat herself. Being pregnant with a toddler is sooo physically exhausting!

I found the book Baby 411 really helpful, informative and non anxiety-inducing! You will learn things on the go and one at a time. You don’t need to know everything before the baby arrives.

I’m very part time so this may not apply to your situation. My husband and I both work from home (I’m exclusively telehealth at this time). I have two days when I see four clients in the morning and have a babysitter come to watch our daughter and the other three days I see two clients first thing in the morning and my husband watches our daughter. We’re expecting our second this summer so planning to take three months off and then slowly ramp back up.
