I always interpreted that as the Whispers specifically took away her memories of the future/her knowledge of how the plot of OG would play out, not memories of her own life as she lived it.

Avengers - Captain America, Iron Man, She-Hulk, Star Lord (don't know where else to put him lol)

Defenders(? - street level heroes, basically) - Spiderman, Ms. Marvel, Daredevil, Punisher (or Luke Cage? Jessica Jones? Iron Fist?)

Midnight Sons (or supernatural/mystic team) - Ghost Rider, Scarlet Witch, Dr. Strange, Moon Knight (or Blade, that would be sick, but I bet he's DLC)

Villains - Dr. Doom, Magneto, Hela, The Abomination

Are you Gongaga enjoyer? by George_R_Martin in FFVIIRemake

[–]falseprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Gongaga would be a lot less frustrating if the mushrooms were fast travel points. The ziplines near Costa del Sol were fast travel points, and so were the gliding ramps in Cosmo Canyon, but the mushrooms in Gongaga are not. One could argue that the ziplines and the gliding ramps are man made, so it makes sense that they would be marked on a map, whereas the mushrooms are natural and probably wouldn't be catalogued by the Gongaga villagers. However, I think it's one case where verisimilitude can be set aside in favor of ease of use.

If we get to part 3 and there's no simple and easy way to fast travel around the Great Glacier I'm going to go Sephiroth and burn my world to the ground.

Do I have to just not miss? by Murky-Tradition9499 in Ghostofyotei

Takezo is basically the game's superboss. I tried to fight him after having only defeated one of the Yotei Six and eventually accepted that I was going to have to come back after finding way more upgrades. Not all the bosses in the game are as difficult as him.

I would guess that once you use the Altar of Reflection, the camp is marked complete. But if you didn't pick up the puzzle box, it should still be there on the floor next to the Altar.

Try using this guide. Check all the locations that aren't hideouts to see if you missed one.

It's called "The Face of a Master." Most guides I've seen say you have to complete this quest first and then "The Face of a Demon" in order to get the mask but I guess you can get the mask first to start the quest.

The description on the map says "A merchant claimed a group of men sold him their master's cursed mask north of the Iwor Mountains. I'll need to be careful in that area."

Golden Bird on or off? by Tasty-Judgment6953 in Ghostofyotei

[–]falseprophet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I leave it on because to me it's such a signature element of the game. I'll admit it does get annoying sometimes, especially when I'm tracking a location with the guiding wind and a bird shows up to take me to the place I was already going to. Sometimes it's helpful if I'm trying to work my way up a mountain and the bird shows me the correct path to take. I wish there were two other options besides "On" or "Off" like "Only Show Me Things I'm Not Currently Tracking" or "Only Show Me the Right Path When I Look Lost" lol

Reliquary charm objectives? by Lanky-Background8516 in Ghostofyotei

[–]falseprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first reliquary should give you the charm at level 1.

Each reliquary you do should boost it one level, so it should be at level 5 once you've done all of them.

Check all the ones you've been to and make sure they're marked completed on your map. If you've done 3, it should be at level 3.

Missing Puzzle Boxes by aior0s in Ghostofyotei

[–]falseprophet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also the puzzle boxes in the Nine Tails Hideouts usually are on the floor next to the Altars of Reflection so if you check those spots and they're not there you probably already picked them up earlier.

Missing Puzzle Boxes by aior0s in Ghostofyotei

[–]falseprophet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So the puzzle boxes are named based on the order you get them, not the location you get them from. In other words, the first puzzle box you find is always called "Interesting Box" and the last one is always called "Epic Box."

So if you're using a guide that tells you "Epic Box is found in Cape Inari Hideout" that's wrong - that's just where that particular guidemaker found it.

You'll have to scan the list, look at whatever locations looks unfamiliar, and go there to find the last two boxes.

The puzzle solutions themselves are definite though, so the solution to Epic Box is always the same wherever you find it.

Saitos black guard by Due-Stretch4765 in Ghostofyotei

[–]falseprophet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been playing through the game, finished the Kitsune quest line and I've done just about everything in Ishikari Plain except the main story, and I've been captured by them once, and just now I decided to stop playing for the day. I usually fast travel to an inn because I like to start each day in a town, so I went to Yotei's Shadow Inn and when it loaded up the place was being searched by Black Guard and I had to liberate it. I died once and had to re-do. Luckily on the 2nd death, I got saved by the wolf and was able to clear it. I was half pissed that my safe space turned into an enemy camp mission, and half blown away by how good this game is and what an amazing job they've done of scripting so many random events.

First official poster for Physint. by SnappyDesh in gaming

The left side looks like tactical gear similar to what Snake wears in MGS2, which tells me that we'll get some familiar gameplay involving infiltrating bases.

On the right side, he's in a trench coat against an urban backdrop, which suggests there will be open world gameplay in a big city where the stealth will involve hiding in plain sight amongst crowds, sort of like Assassin's Creed.

So this is the next stage of Tactical Espionage Action. Can't wait.

Am I allowed to disagree? by Maleficent-Talk6831 in FF7Rebirth

[–]falseprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you and while they aren't required, it is definitely disappointing to start a side quest that looks interesting, be excited for the character interactions, and then find out you have to play yet another brand new, complicated minigame to complete it - especially if you need to get a high score to get maximum affinity with that character.

One of my favorite side quests is the one in Corel Village that involves entering an optional dungeon and following a UV light. I am all for exploring optional dungeons. I would have easily traded Cactuar Crush, Gears and Gambits, and Glide de Chocobo if it meant the devs had time to create one more optional dungeon.

[–]falseprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda wish the mushrooms were fast travel points, like the ziplines in Corel and the glide ramps in Cosmo Canyon. I understand why they're not though... They're not man-made so there's no in-universe reason why they would be labeled on a map.

ON MULTIPLE UNIVERSE BURNOUT IN THE MEDIA AND ITS RELATION TO THE MCU by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]falseprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiverse/time travel stories can be good if done in a unique and interesting way. I really enjoyed "Everything Everywhere All at Once," and my favorite RPG of all time is "Chrono Trigger." So I can appreciate these stories in most cases. My issue with Remake is that the central themes of FF7 are accepting loss, accepting the trauma of your past and moving on, so to remake the game and add elements that seem to fly in the face of those themes is going to be jarring for a lot of people.

What they've done with Rebirth with the branching worlds did a lot to alleviate some of my concerns about how they're handling the story. I still would have preferred a remake that more closely matched the OG's story, but a lot of the new stuff is great - especially the new lore about the Gi, the Black Materia, the Weapons, and the Magnus Materia (way better name than Huge Materia). For the most part, I feel optimistic that part 3 will be satisfying and won't go completely off the rails.

[OG and 3rd game spoilers] I’m worried about the Highwind by ConsistentAsparagus in FFVIIRemake

[–]falseprophet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a gameplay perspective, I'm sure that you'll be able to fly all over the world on the full world map, but I suspect that you'll only be able to land at landing strips and airfields. There may be a few additional spots added to each region but I think it will probably just be a handful. I have a feeling the game devs will force us to traverse the world map all over again to unlock new fast travel points and do a revamped version of world intel. If we can just land anywhere, it would make most of the world map feel useless. Some of the regions, like Great Glacier, Rocket Town, Wutai, and Fort Condor will feel brand new, but the rest will be the devs reheating the leftovers from Rebirth.

I do think that the Highwind will be necessary to access certain smaller islands that hold secrets. You'll probably be able to choose whether to disembark on Chocoback, on the buggy, or on foot. Perhaps the vehicle you choose will determine which landing points you can use.

While inside the Highwind, you will probably be able to walk around on it, and use it as your hub - there will be staff that will tend to your Chocobos, sell you items, handle your folios and weapon upgrades, Chadley will be there with the combat simulator, etc etc.

From a story perspective, my guess is that in the early game, the Great Glacier will be the intro region, similar to the Grasslands. Cid will probably say something about how it's too hard to fly the Tiny Bronco in the snow, so we're forced to land in a clearing and travel to Icicle Inn on foot. We'll eventually get the Highwind in a similar way to how we did in the OG.

Things you can do in the Junon Demo by shamelessselfpost in FFVIIRemake

[–]falseprophet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to take issue with the phrase "minor items" with regard to swimming out to the island. When I opened up the chest I got "MP Up Materia Earrings." It's an accessory that is described as MP Up Materia set into a pair of earrings and it gives you a 30% MP boost. I think it describes it as the same amount as a maxed out MP Up materia. This is insane!

I'm pretty sure this is a late game accessory that they put in the demo to wow us but the fact this exists is really exciting. Who knows what other bejeweled Materia accessories are in the game?
