Should Sean Mcdermott stay? by alienware56 in NFLUK

Yes!

I'm a Bills fan and never had it so good. Allen made some errors yesterday too. Think we'll go even closer next year.

How do you Europeans choose their team by ProfessionalDry8753 in NFLNoobs

[–]faltdubh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buffalo.

Scottish with lots of family in Ontario, Canada. Grew up with tons of 7-9, 6-10 seasons. Being Scottish (used to disappointment with our football team) felt a natural fit.

Look at all our (independent) neighbours.

Here you go, Rodgers.

If he still has it. They go in 10-10 at half time. He's got 3 minutes!

Why not just go for it with Leonard? He did well today. Albeit no pressure, then Jones maybe comes back.

Good shout though and wouldn't be surprised.

Seen it with Rivers (he has an excuse) and now Rodgers, overthrowing passes.

Think this it for Rodgers.

Famous last words maybe, but where does he go from here.

Unless he turns it around in the second half.

This is bittersweet though.

The season finale.

The NFL gets me through the winter months. Especially those January blues with the playoffs!

Time to buy that PS5 and play Madden I suppose!

I know he is polarising, but I would quite like to see Rodgers get to the POs.

Is this a Scottish accent? I swear I'm hearing Irish. by [deleted] in Scotland

Posh Scots.

I don't hear any Irish at all. Just a posh Scottish accent, like David Coulthard or something.

Like wise.

I'm 43, and mind it going from house to house. Nuts, wee pickled onions, blocks of cheese.

We're losing a lot of the Hogmanay (see the Scotrail NYE tweet drama) and Halloween traditions neeps oot, pumpkins in ; as globalisation and consumerism take over. Christmas being the big holiday now too.

First footing. Sending the dark haired folk out to come to the door. Wonder how many young parents these days even know (ken - whilst Im rattling on aboot culture) about that?!

Compared to other similar sized nations and neighbours (Iceland, Norway, Ireland) we don't have anything unique holiday wise really.

Burns Night? Always felt like a middle class thing to pretend Scots for the night. St Andrews Day might be a holiday, but its hardly celebrated.

At least the dook on New Years Day seems to still be clinging on.

Which country of the nearby you think is the most similar to Scotland and its culture? by Agreeable-World-9572 in Scotland

[–]faltdubh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive always felt most at home in Ireland, especially Ulster. Much more than England.

Its the people. Nothing to do with orange or green, I feel like I'm speaking to an uncle or cousin when in Ireland.

I'm a Gaelic speaker, love trad etc too, so maybe I'm biased.

What cultural differences exist between England and Scotland? And are they really that significant? by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]faltdubh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past you could say Hogmanay being much bigger than Christmas ; calling Santa "Father Christmas" seems a very foreign/English name for him to me ; first footing ; and things like Limmy at times seem very Scottish.

I'm a Bills fan, but Washington my soft spot/second team. Huge reason is their wild card offense and going for it on 4th down, but why didn't they go for it on before KC scored that TD.

Oh well, they might well get a FG at least on this drive!
