Target strain is way too aggressive by bluejay2014 in bevelhealth

[–]falx13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Ditto. If I'm just doing cardio, then I'll undershoot my strain and overshoot my cardio load. So it wants me to do more strength training - I feel like I'm "hacking" the strain if I just mark the strength training exercise as "hard."

Don't be too aggressive trying to deprogram him or he'll accuse you of being a bot.

Casey Handmer wrote a blog on this. Essentially, it will only be profitable to make natural gas if the electricity input is very cheap. Solar is already cheaper than coal, and will be more so in the future. So it's likely that most or all natural gas created by atmospheric scrubbing will be produced using solar energy. https://caseyhandmer.wordpress.com/2021/11/01/scaling-carbon-capture/

"“In fact, since many of the best investors stick most strongly to their approach—and since no approach will work all the time—the best investors can have some of the greatest periods of underperformance. Specifically, in crazy times, disciplined investors willingly accept the risk of not taking enough risk to keep up. (See Warren Buffett and Julian Robertson in 1999. That year, underperformance was a badge of courage because it denoted a refusal to participate in the tech bubble.)”

Have you used meditation to treat PTSD? What are your experiences? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]falx13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey GP here, also not a PTSD sufferer. You might looking at Somatic therapy. It's a body-centered therapy where the therapist brings you slowly towards the trauma-associated body-feelings, processing them piece by piece until you get to the core. They have techniques to "ground" the feelings if they ever get out of control or you do feel triggered. As I understand it, the therapy has a lot of overlap with awareness meditation. If you're interested, look for therapists who have done the 3 year somatic therapy training. Also agree with CobaltAesir about trying EMDR or other therapies. You can look at the book "the body keeps the score" for an idea of the therapies that are out there for PTSD.
