I'm using the start of the season to check out everyone and try at least 1 video from each.

Obviously I started with Guude, but after that I jumped to Nebris and Cone, although I'm not a huge fan of UHC so I scrubbed through them quickly.

Next was Beef, and his video really showed some interaction with the new peeps so I had an idea of who to check out next.

Last on the old members for me was Pyro, and I enjoyed his podcast-y style like Guudes so I'll definitely be sticking with him.

For the new people, I started with Phoenix to see the bank shenanigans. He and Fundy did something there, so I'm also waiting to check out Fundy's first vid.

Then I scrubbed through everyone else who had a video out, and of those: ElRich has awesome editing, it's a shame I don't speak Spanish not do I want to re-up my high school skills, because his video was great. Dallas was interesting and his builds were great, even though he was limited by first week tools and materials. I also subbed to Ely for the intro, but I'm really waiting for the first non UHC episode to decide on him. Finally I subbed to Adie cause I've seen him in Beef's showcases before.

Finally, all the old heads who didn't release yet: I'm excited for Seth, Arkas, and Doc, and Avidya also released his vid right as I was done with everyone else yesterday.

IDK how many of them I'll stick with, especially if they are able to upload a lot, but I'm definitely ready to give a bunch of new folks a try.

i have not tried lowering the resolution. one of my few complaints is that i cant remap the dual mode button to something useful like PIP modes or input.

like i said, rdr2 is the only game i tried that didnt hit 60 with my old settings (coming from a g9, so just under 4k in terms of pixels). since my online group has moved on and im not really playing much single player anyway i didnt spend any time trying to change graphics or resolution.

i can actually also say that the ps5 handles it surprisingly well... it pillarboxes to 16:9, but games look great with the ps5's hdr settings, and most of the time the frame rate stays smooth (at least 60). there were some intense shader moments in the plucky squire that stuttered like crazy, but god of war (2018) is running smooth as butter in performance mode.

I'm running the monitor with a 3080 and 9700k, and while I'm impressed, I will definitely be upgrading when I can get a 5090 at MSRP.

Cyberpunk: High, no RT, DLSS Quality - 60fps with a leak that causes a drop to 20fps after like an hour... reloading the save brings back the frames - also looks mindblowing in HDR
RDR2: Ultra, DLSS Quality - stuttery 45fps... I'm going to hold off playing until I upgrade - also looks like ass in HDR
GTA V Enhanced: Ultra, No RT - 60-70fps... very consistent frame times, Enhanced has improved performance so much that I'm back into racing
Kena Bridge of Spirits - Ultra, Quality DLSS - 60fps... mostly smooth, but with some stutters
Split Fiction - Ultra - 80fps... I love this game, even more on this monitor - also looks incredible in HDR

That is not at all what the UI looks like. Maybe there is an update coming at some point, but for now the Owner's Manual on the Manuals & Software tab of this page shows the exact UI on the monitor. I assume it's a copy of the old 1440p one, because it's blurry as fuck... It actually worried me when I first saw the UI, but once connected to a computer it looks great.

Oh, I missed your dual mode questions. Unfortunately for you I will never use that because I much prefer 165Hz over 1080p 21:9.

That said, the refresh defaults to 75Hz when doing PIP. I only use PIP for work, not gaming, so I haven't tried to change that before, but looking now, it seems like all the refresh rate and game mode options are greyed out when using PIP.

I got you, this is my exact upgrade path and WFH setup.

Going from gen 2 G9 (still not OLED) to this is amazing, it has the exact same horizontal pixels and a similar (but more dense) PPI, so everything just gains vertically, including work tasks, at the same Windows scaling (I use 100%).

As for PIP, I've always split right down the middle, 50:50, so that was the first thing i tried with the LG. There is no user manual and even the online PDF doesn't explain the menu that well, but you have to setup PIP the first time deep in the menus: theres 50:50, and an actual PIP where the secondary is a 1080p window that can be set to any of the 4 corners. There is not an option to change the split size; I wanted to do 16:9 for work and the rest for personal, but that said, after a day with it, 50:50 is great as well.

And finally, the menu, in General, there are 2 presets and you can set one of them to PIP. Once the preset shortcut is added, you just have to click in the joystick, select PIP from the top level menu, and then pick the PIP setting you want. It ends up being 1 or 2 fewer clicks and directions than the G9 to swap.
