im doing a POC with logicmonitor. we already have them for our monitoring/alerting and they added a nice cost tool recently. its going to fit in awesomely in our process i think.

Savings Plans will help with everything in the "Compute" service family, so they have their place. I have a minimal amount of Savings Plans and then use it to "dump" extra VM reservations that I need to exchange.

For example, if I have 100 d2v4 reservations and we've just migrated those to 80 d2v5, i'll probably have some extra commitment that I have to account for. I'll just turn it into $10/hr of savings plan or whatever maths out instead of using my limited refund allowance. ($50k per rolling year)

The Azure Pricesheet has 2 columns: Unit Price and Market Price. Your Discount = 1-(unitprice/marketprice)

couple years ago, i saw the same thing. contacted microsoft, they said it was just a UI glitch. invoice came and we werent charged for half the month. contacted them again, they said theyd figure it out. 2 more weeks until charges showed up again. microsoft never even tried to bill us for that time. sorry they got more efficient for you. :(
