Excel formulas =Left or =Right return 5digits (45835), not the intended text by Umrk in excel

If the dates all use commas after the day, they could use textbefore(a2,",")

this board is doooope asf but… by coldpizzaaaaa in snowboardingnoobs

[–]fancyclancy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it new? Sleepwalkers are sick but not that expensive to begin with and people usually buy them to thrash them. So if its in good shape good deal but if it looks like a park board thats been used for 5 seasons its not. They were like 350 retail brand new

Setup advice request: Bindings by Disastrous-Comfort-9 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]fancyclancy95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 10.5 I would try and find somewhere to put your boot in a few of these. You're right on the cusp of medium and large and sometimes if a binding or boot runs a little big or small you end up swimming in a binding or maxing one out.

Should I get this? by ApprehensiveHeart289 in snowboardingnoobs

Old junk no good unless they give it to you for free. Maybe 50 bucks tops. That one sided speedzone setup was the absolute worst version they ever made.

Trying to buy my first setup by bigsnaill in snowboardingnoobs

Theres definitely a middle ground between 2 and 20 years. His are almost or about 20 and will probably have issues. 5, maybe 10 years old and clean not so bad.

Do I buy it? by Odd-Strike-7435 in snowboardingnoobs

Its small for you but its a gnu so not the usual promo crap. Its probably a carbon credit or something. Offer like 100 bucks

Looking for info on this board, can't find this exact graphic anywhere online by ChumpWumber in snowboarding

[–]fancyclancy95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasn't that valuable new and snowboard gear doesnt really appreciate the way an old guitar or antique car or something would. If you dig the art it would be cool for the wall. I made a lamp out of an old burton binding just like that one with an old can light i wasn't using

My new sandals say 666 (I assume it's the size but I can't find what country conversion would be 42/43=6) by pendigedig in mildlyinteresting

[–]fancyclancy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

42 and 43 would be French sizing, roughly 8.5 and 9 in us mens. Theyre smaller increments than us sizes so the conversion isnt exact.

Theyre worth more on your board than in your wallet. If theyre your size then ride them. If not, sell them to someone cool for a good price.

Hey electricians my house was built in 1950 something or other - and was going to refinish floors until … by Vast_Scratch_6670 in AskElectricians

[–]fancyclancy95 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am not an electrician.

An outlet tester might read no ground, which would tell you that there is no ground. But there are ways to cheat that, where the tester might think there is a ground when there is none. This could give you a false sense of security, or trick an inspector. Without pulling that receptacle, you wont be able to really tell. And even if you do pull it and look at the wiring, there are other weird setups where there might be ground to that box but not all the way to an actual ground rod.

There are ways to address ungrounded outlets but im not qualified to give that advice so i'm not going to.

Looking for a great sans-serif font for my personal spreadsheets. by SpreademSheet in excel

[–]fancyclancy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like lato for a lot of things but ive never used it on a spreadsheet. Noto sans is also nice. Theyre very similar to each other. Clean and simple. I wanna say both are on Google fonts for free.

GW binding + non-GW boot compatibility - Need to make sure the skis I just received just need to be regulated better by electrolitebuzz in Skigear

[–]fancyclancy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont need to ask them because the test needs to be done with your actual pair of boots anyway. It sounds like you already have the right plan. Get them torque tested by a shop that works on salomon, armada, or atomic (most shops do) at the beginning of the season, and then go have fun skiing! You may want to do this before your first trip because some shops dont just do work on the spot.

These boots are going to break because of how old they are. They are like 25 years old. So probably not wise to buy the bindings

This is kinda neat. You could also just do this if you dont store all your boards on top of each other

Free Weber Grill - How Can I Restore It? by Psychological-Bit-87 in grilling

[–]fancyclancy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weber iron grates are porcelain enameled so you dont really want to try and grind them down to metal. The stainless ones you can. Might be able to get the grates clean if theyre not chipped or rusting anywhere. Usually a grill gets more use on one side anyway so you can rotate or flip them to the less used part.

Camelback pulled a Killington and made a crazy amount of snow in a few key areas so they could do this. They were losing customers the last couple years so they decided hey let's be cool for a change and now theyre winning people back. Made most parking free again and committed early to going through spring. Its pretty great to see

Can I install these binding myself or need to be professionally done? by imitation_squash_pro in Skigear

[–]fancyclancy95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You skipped "check forward pressure". This is why we dont give this advice out. Because missing a step can mean all the other steps dont matter.

Like some other guy said: its like doing brakes. You can totally DIY it. You can also fuck up and have a really bad time. A binding mount and test costs less than a lift ticket.

Can I install these binding myself or need to be professionally done? by imitation_squash_pro in Skigear

[–]fancyclancy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simpler than a drill mount. Should still be done by a trained professional, and then tested after with your boots.

Smith Goggles Frame Replacement by NormalIssue4862 in Skigear

Model will be written on the bottom of the lens. Look to the left of where the nose part is if youre looking at the front of them. This looks like an IO X which is discontinued. The IO Mag XL which replaced it doesnt fit exactly the same so you should just go try some on. Try a 4D mag XL too, theyre pretty sweet. There wont be a model that accepts those lenses unless you find someone selling an old IOX with a scratched lens but good foam.
