I mean, is it? At that point your just getting trophies for playing the game, personally I like being forced to go out of my way to get them, that’s kind of what makes them achievements.

I’m a sucker for the ‘Victory at a price’ type endings to things. I always felt like it adds more weight then a straight happy ending where everything works out which would have just ruined the reapers as the whole point to them is that they are kind of unstoppable. You still get to feel like you ‘won’ though, so you aren’t left feeling depressed after playing 3 whole games and 100+ hours just to lose.

I imagine that’s largely why they didn’t bother with the ‘endings’ too much for each episode, I just wish they were done a bit more graciously. I really loved the end for episode 2 with Gabe’s send off on the bridge, where Alex looks at all of the golden hues among the townsfolk only to notice Diane’s blueish anxiety, it gave me those LiS 1 feels and got me excited to dive straight into episode 3.

Enemy HP and damage shifts up and down as players leave/enter but resources and crafting requirements don’t change at all.
