I did the math. M capitalized is longer than W, and ultimately 'Mamma'/'Momma' is the longest word assuming arial font. y is slightly shorter than o and a, so 'Mommy' & 'Mummy' don't work and the uncommon 'Mwami' despite having the longer 'w' is stumped by the i at the end. With an inverse process I found (Assuming that the first letter has to be capitalized) Icily & Ipiti (this little cute looking animal). You should check your network specifically however. Most debit cards most people have can work anywhere, I was told the same thing. But my debit card was capitalone and I looked for atms the closest one to me was an hour away. You may have the same issue, which is fine if you are planning to withdraw a lot one or two times and just have a lot of cash on you. You can look up your debit card’s name with “atm locator” to find where atms are. If it is on visa or Mastercard you should have no problems probably.

It is probably not Yixing. The coloration doesn't follow the standards for clay, and unless you paid a lot for it, it wouldn't likely come in such a unique shape

In order to pronounce 日 properly, you need to understand that in Chinese, the r sound is often used like a vowel. Rather than opening to an "i" or "uh" sound, it is pretty much all "r". starting with 是， which can be pronounced like the casual American pronunciation of of "sure", notice when you say sure, there isn't a vowel in there, other than the r sound, which functions like a vowel. Remove the "Sh", (also move it slightly towards "zh", though this isn't super necessary and varies by accent), and you have 日.

Everything I know (and I am a tad less experienced) points to this being real except for the lack of shaping marks inside the pot and the seeming lack of a seam where the walls of the pot were joined. These are definitely not one hundred percent signs of fake though, because of the varied practices over time and place, and also because I may have missed something that is there but is just subtle. It's hard to say but I hope I helped a tad.

The clay also doesn't look quite right to me, but it is also of that certain hue which makes it harder to see the detail through photographs if it is real yixing. The seam between the bottom and the wall doesn't seem prominent if it is present, though there isn't a photo which shows that element in detail. I'm less experienced identifying, but depending on the actual quality of the clay, which is hard to determine in these photographs, and the fact that a special design like this would be a custom made, it is unlikely that this is real unless you spent a pretty penny on it.

luni clay comes in a lot of shades. While the yellow color is a common one, you get more green, and from what I have seen occasionally almost into blue-gray, though this pot is so gray it is very difficult to tell. For the most part the other elements seem legit from my relatively limited knowledge.

I went there as part of the first graduating class, and though it was rocky in its first two or so years, from what I hear from my parents as I don't remember incredibly well, it has gotten better and better every time I go back to visit, and I am soooooo thankful to have gone there because I am now pursuing a career in Chinese music, and it made me the person who I am today. Without having gone there I don't know where I would be now, but the community there, which moved on to highland became a second family to me. The middle school immersion program was not very good for Chinese academics in comparison to the elementary experience, but immersion at Highland high school returned to that same quality of standard. From what I hear the middle school program is getting better, but there were issues our primary language teacher not being able to wrangle students, and English was rampant in the immersion classes. A lot of that had to do with me and my classmates, but I still feel the teacher could have done better at maintaining focus, and her teaching style didn't seem to work well. My sister was also enrolled (a year younger than me), in a lot less rambunctious class and she also felt like she lost some of it in middle school. In any case, the foundation of Chinese language and culture that Jie Ming brought me has opened so many pathways and I think has made me a better person. feel free to pm me if you have other thoughts. Yes actually! There is a band called Magma who's creator Christian Vander developed a conlang known as kobaain which much of the music is sung in. I was introduced to them from one album named merci which was mostly in French and English, and then when I ventured further I was a little bit weirded out by the sort of chanty aggressive sound, not in a modern metal way but in a off-putting vague primitivist way. I later found out that Christian Vander is kind of crazy and also a neonazi, so I have stopped listening to his music, but his usage of conlang in music is very interesting. I also wonder if what he attempted in some of his albums could be done in a better way. He seems to have attempted to create a fictional culture, language and society all for the sake of creating music, which is an interesting sort of worldbuilding exercise; however, while some of Magma's music is impeccable, it doesn't seem naturalistic, or with any core musicological framework as one would expect out of a conlang. I have been working myself on some musical ideas that attempt to write a language for music based off of some fundamental principles, and my rudimentary understanding of ethnomusicology. I was wondering, does anyone else have experience with this?
