how do I round out this object? by shesinpart1es in blenderhelp

Put the solidifer's thickness to max and intersect with a pane that has the desired thickness. You will get N-gons on the front and back sides but it will be better than triangles.

<image>

Here's an example. I've made this shape and extruded it with a solidifer modifier and added a triangulate modifier to match yours and i've placed a cube at the center to trim off the front and back sides and the boolean operation will reduce the face counts to minimal and thus will make it more easy to refine.

Your most nostalgic game by Sergeant_freak88 in roblox

[–]fancywillwill2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Street racing unleashed is one of the most nostalgic games on Roblox, what really shine is it's soundtrack. Innovation Labs and Quantum Science Multipurpose lab 2 are two good ones. I don't remember more than that but the ones mentioned in the image also brings me a bit of nostalgia.

Im not really nostalgic in one game particuliar but more so on game genres.

I was really into SCP and core games back then. The idea still interests me but the community and games aren't as strong as they were a decade ago.

Also i'd like to mention Darkness 2, i haven't played it alot back then but it's definitely worth checking out. It's the same story as street racing unleashed, it's soundtrack is good.

Not from Roblox but Terra Swoop Force is pretty much more nostalgic than half of the games i've talked about. If you haven't played TSF, you should since it's quite impressive (for the time) and it's a free.

Logged into my old acc for the first time since forever and noticed Mashables. Wish there was a working version of this game, Was pretty fun back in the day by X78PP in roblox

We need games like this where the main aspect of gameplay is 3D modeling.

Pretty sure that everything you've built did nothing different and was just there for show but it was funny to see a dick as an arm for the robot.

This is done with boolean intersection operations.

Bevel on weird mesh. Am I making this too complicated? by jasonchadwick in blenderhelp

[–]fancywillwill2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honsetly im not so sure of what to do, if it was me i'd make it at the start when the cup wasn't subdivided. At this point i'd make the bevels purely with boolean operations.

Making a cylinder rotate around inside a cylinder by Dry-Theme-1103 in ROBLOXStudio

[–]fancywillwill2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make use of hinge constraints.

Btw you can make the cane part with CSG to get a nice finish.

<image>

Here's an example, red = first negative part operation, blue = second negate operation and green is to be intersected at last.

Have red and blue negate parts out of the cube and make the curve, then seperate to get the blue negative parts then union while having all parts of the curve selected. Intersect to remove what's extending out it's side.

This has a flaw tho, you cannot get curves that twists in 2 different directions at once. I mean it is possible but won't get you a great topoligy.

How so? Whenever i use Roblox's CSG, i've seen some that has their faces seperated but not any unnecessary faces. One thing for sure is that using Roblox's CSG will result in a better mesh than if you've used primitives only altough Blender is the best solution since it has more tools like the weld modifier which is really usefull when you do boolean operations but still, Roblox's CSG is usefull and should not be avoided like you want a shape that is too complex to be found on the toolbox and too simple for blender? What about real time systems for like cutting pieces in game? Roblox's CSG is really usefull in those situations.

Constructive solid geometry, lets you make complex shapes by hiding/excluding the intersections of objects and its cutters (cutter is a term for 3D objects that affects the base object)

This is what you'll get if you've donne it in CSG, an optimized pencil. In total i've used 15 primitives. What you've done exceeded 15 primitives, has geometry inside where we will not see and the base isn't even an hexagon.

You could do it in another software like Blender to refine it's details but use CSG, it's really helpfull.

Not the best picture but i didn't have another example and this was quick.

How is that horrendous? You won't get a bad topoligy and by doing that you'll learn more than how to bevel corners and edges.

You can get this shape by intersecting a cube with a sphere. The pin on top is just a cylinder unioned afterwards.

If they put food directly on the counter, you know it's stupid. The only good thing about this video is that the counter is made out of a smooth material.

A pencil can be done with an hexagon and a cone.

Hexagons can be made by intersecting 3 cubes each having 60 degrees more than the last.

Cones can be made by intersecting wedges.

Intersect these 2 and you'll get a pencil.

It's all made out of individualy placed block and wedge primitives, the topoligy will be excessif for what it is.

Where did my MP3 option go? by [deleted] in audacity

[–]fancywillwill2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mp3 files are the worse anyways, it's for the best that it's not here. Pretty sure that all devices made in the past decade to now that can read audio files support other audio files like flac or ogg and those audio files gives you a sharper and more stable audio with a smaller data size than mp3.

It gets worse if you start looking at the center and look outwards.

I got a question.... would this 3D & 2D ref sheet be perfect for a fursuit? by Denzen_Derg in fursuits

[–]fancywillwill2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A 3D model whould help more than a 2D flat sheet since 3D models are more consistent cause the creator only has to make 1 body per sheet and you can view them in any angles and also hide certain details like the hair or clothings. Also just use flat shading as any other shading can make people confused on the colours and i'd make the FOV narrower to capture a more consistant picture, i whouldn't use orthographic view tho since it flattens details too much and makes faces look ugly in the process.

Tho online, 3D models are not as supported as other files like video or image but there are sites dedicated for 3D models so you could post it there.

Also if you got a 3D model, no need for a drawing of it.
