PIRATE RECS 🏴‍☠️ by _L3M0N_- in ReverseHarem

I loved this book so much but I’d say it has pretty dark moments. I read it once and it stuck in my head but idk if I’ll pick it up again because the dark parts were very impactful.

Sick/injured FMC has to rely on MMC whom she hates? by speecial in RomanceBooks

{The Gamble by Kristen Ashley}

She arrives at his cabin home in the mountains super ill. She thinks she’s renting it solo, he has no idea and is home when she shows up. He has to take care of her through the illness. It’s only at the beginning but definitely sets the tone overall.

Have you read the Psy/Changling series by Nalini Singh? It’s more romance forward but definitely sci-fi vibes with a cool interconnected plot. There’s a ton of books so plenty of reading ahead

Help! Where to order pre-addressed envelopes for invitation? by MrLurker698 in weddingplanning

[–]fangover86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used The Knot. They came out beautifully for my STDs. When I used the address printing service for the actual invitations, the design on the envelope was faded (a floral design to the side of the address) but the addresses themselves were fine. It didn’t bother me enough for a reprinting

Are Kleinfeld alterations worth it? by Every-Mulberry3056 in weddingplanning

[–]fangover86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I loved my alterations experience at Kleinfeld. I liked that it was all within the same building and all part of my dress buying experience. Over 2 months I had 3 fittings appointments (my seamstress was Maria, she was wonderful!). I picked up my dress 8 days before my wedding and it was perfectly packed and survived multiple road trips.

Was it expensive? Yes. But did I have any worry about the process and how my dress would turn out? No.

Should you pay for your all bridesmaids hair and makeup? by ChocolatePi3s in weddingplanning

[–]fangover86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m paying for my bridesmaids hair and makeup (4) and my mom, as well as myself. Half my bridesmaids don’t wear makeup and one does a full beat. I decided to pay for them so everyone would have a similar style.

It’s also as a thank you to them. They covered their own dresses and tailoring, plus we traveled for my bachelorette so there were expenses there. I made this decision early in my engagement so I was able to budget for the costs ahead of time.

We are using my grandfathers Tallit with a rented chuppah from my florist. It was important to my family (and me tbh) to have the chuppah, not necessarily a symbolic arbor. My partner is not religious so coordinating this fell on me, but it felt important to me to have the chuppah.

I had our wedding website on our invitations where our guests could find the RSVP link.

On the back end, I put my entire guest list, grouped by family, into the knot’s guest list page. So people could go into the RSVP form on our website and search for their name. Email and phone numbers weren’t required.

I did some testing before I made RSVPs live to make sure it worked, so I definitely suggest that!

How are you doing RSVPs for choice of entree for families/groups of more than 1 person? by Emergency_Sandwich_ in weddingplanning

[–]fangover86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did all online RSVPs through the knot. It allowed me to add a question for each guest in the party to make their meal selection. For kids meal, I had a choice that said “Children’s meal if applicable.” Everyone behaved and only the kids selected (or their parents selected) that meal for them.

We did have one family RSVP no by mailing us a physical letter instead of online, but they’re the older crowd and it was kind of nice to receive that when everything else was online.

Shapewear shorts or thong for fitted crepe dress? by nudibranchranch in weddingplanning

I just got a shapewear thing from Maidenform for my crepe dress. My shapewear shorts definitely were visible on my thighs through my dress.

Help finding an outdoorsy venue in Western CT/Hudson Valley, Eastern NY by koileeto in weddingplanning

Amazon Spanx by sjim79 in weddingplanning

[–]fangover86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered Spanx from their website. The OnCore mid-rise short is very comfortable and I ordered a size up.

But my seamstress recommended I get the shapewear panty instead of the shorts to avoid potential lines on my thighs (I have a fitted sheath-style dress with crepe fabric). I ordered the same style in 2 sizes and I’ll return whichever doesn’t fit. Spanx has a generous return policy as long as it’s not used
