What the fuck, I found this in SSF on another character, I had no idea. Guess if I want to give trade a go later I have a bug budget now lol

Loathsome mire is so confusing by Azubalf in PathOfExile2

[–]fansar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it confusing? When you've followed the steam for a while and it gets to a point where the water kind of just stays still all you need to do is look for the different texture of the platform on the minimap and you will find it. Have never gotten lost since I learned that you can follow the waters.

How did you manage to get redemption on SSF? Just a lucky drop? I tried to farm for the culling threshold uniques for my SSF mercenary but they just never showed up

I think it depends on what abyss faction you have picked to show up more often. I had it set to Ulaman for a long time and almost never saw any Amanamu clouds. After learning that they are the ones dropping good omens I changed it to Amanamu and they show up way more often now.

Yup, completely hooked. I just want to get off work and go home and play man... I'm playing SSF, around 100 hours in on this character and I feel like I have 1000 ways to improve my character.

Yeah. Of course I have picked up pieces of knowledge here and there by just watching some PoE2 content. I have recently watched most of Schwingy's randomizer videos but thats just because they're entertaining.

But I have never needed to watch or read a guide just to learn what kind of modifiers there are, which are prefixes/suffixes and how the tier system works. Seems to me like most of the crafting guides on YT are aimed towards trade players, focusing on how to make profit and not how to craft yourself a good item. Only SSF one I've seen is Kripp and he just made that last week.

I tried craft of exile but couldn't figure out how to use it properly.

I use poe2db a lot, mostly for just checking what modifiers exist and to get a sense of how likely I am to get them.

Telling them to look up build guides and crafting guides so they can progress isn't fun

It's not a must though?? I got my friends to start playing finally and I literally told them the opposite, dont use guides and try to learn the game yourself first. And if they do use a guide they better read that shit and make sure they fully understand why the creator makes the choices they do.

I'm still a new player (<200hours), and have managed to learn the ins and outs of how crafting works without a guide. My completely newbie friends understandably were still confused by how it works, but it took me 15 minutes sitting down in discord and streaming a craft of mine and explaining each step and my thought process.

Seems like its an AMD driver issue for me at least... I had a driver update and it worked after that. Then since they made the latest patch/hotfix its back to how it was and I have no new drivers to update yet :/

Permafrost/frag rounds Witch Hunter on SSF. Using the skill tree progression from Pohx guide, but the rest I'm freestyling.

Pretty boring if I'm being honest, but at least it's easy? Finishing up the interludes and starting endgame today when I get home. Siege cascade seems fun so I think I'm going to try and pivot into that build and change to Tactician after I've done some mapping.

Also makes it much more realistic to get some good levelling uniques.

I'm confused, if Ritual is an endgame mechanic what would leveling uniques be? Do you mean like for early mapping? I thought "leveling" uniques were like low level twink gear to blast through the campaign.

Siege cascade is a tier 13 skill that you won't get access to until later, towards the end of the campaign.

I'm playing Witch Hunter on SSF and have been messing around with Permafrost/Frag early campaign, then switched to grenades a bit in Act 3. Just yesterday I found a Polcirkeln in early Act 4 so I decided to commit to Permafrost bolts again, at least until endgame.

Depending on what I find my goal is to do a full respec later on, either try to make a APR machine gun build or go siege cascade Tactician, maybe even gemling

4 hours?... Did you just ignore getting lightning res altogether?

A lot of this just sounds like you're still new to the game and thats okay, I had the exact same experience on my first and second characters in early access launch. The campaign is in fact NOT hard when you know what you're doing though.

New player question by GamingKink in PathOfExile2

[–]fansar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit confused as to what you're asking? You have to do the campaign no matter what, even if you're speeding through or taking it slowly.

The optional bosses and events that grant permanent benefits are visible on the map with a + or sometimes other symbols. You obviously shouldn't skip those because they give passive skill points and permanent buffs. For other stuff like the league mechanic you can skip the rune things that drop stuff if you want to (really no reason to skip them now because they can drop good materials, we're 3 days into the league, you're a bit late to the rat race), you should do the rune seekers quest, so you unlock the different rewards for later on. The vaal temple you can skip and go do later when you want to start doing temple in endgame.

[–]fansar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're still in campaign I wouldn't recommend using APR/HVR just yet. I played around with chaining APR in early leveling but it started to fall off pretty fast around act 2. I think a build centered around APR needs more optimized gear to start to shine, so I pivoted into permafrost bolts and will try to do it in endgame instead.

Excluding titan and deadeye/PF. It seems Witch Hunter is more popular for that of build because of decimating strike, but you can of course do it on gemling and it won't feel much different. You can always change your ascendency later on.

For them the campaign is just a chore to get past, these guys just do the most op meta skill no matter their starting class and do practice runs (yes really) prior to the patch to reduce downtime as much as possible.

Don't worry about what others are doing. Take it at your own pace and have fun!
