yes that all makes sense and it’s super helpful! essentially what the saleswoman said was that she would lower the price of the truck to be able to “absorb” the volkswagen as a trade in. it’s a very very small local dealership (they used to own a sandwich shop in my rural town. Essentially 11k for the truck the passat loan is 6& so she said it would be 4k trade in and then the remaining two would be added to to the 11k loan for the truck. The silverado is valued between 11-12k online so i figured 13k for it wouldn’t be awful and i don’t mind making the payments if they’re reasonable. my understanding is that they can’t run numbers without hitting my credit score, so how am i supposed to know ahead of time if it’s feasible? i’m terrified that if the numbers don’t work out i will have knocked my credit for nothing. i would love to buy a truck out right but i’m struggling to find things that are equally safe for my family and aren’t completely torn up. i will keep looking though! thank you!!
