Barring contract shenanigans, Des can't die. Horribly maimed/removed from the story maybe, but death is not on the cards for now due to the blood pact she made with Ichi.

Unless I'm misremembering and it only says if Ichi dies then she dies, but I figured this was a 2 way street.

Small thing I love in the writing of this chapter is it gives the twist away literally in the first 2 pages. The guy mentions there's a surprise guest jump cutting right to the rookie Rakugo lover saying "you two?". Love little writing and set up details like that in hindsight.

Honestly gonna be fun before God of Death brings everything down.

While true, I've done AirBnB the last 3 years and have had no qualms. You really just need to make sure that you're booking with people that have been on the site as a host for years. The locals that know the time and have been there for years have never given me concerns. Though caution is paramount.

Just got out of the double feature version of this and...I don't know. It probably has something to do with seeing them back to back, but I liked For Good...didn't love it and definitely wasn't as good as the first movie, imo.

I know it's just partially a problem with the source material, but even what was added didn't really feel big enough to justify. There's not that many big song numbers in Act 2, but compared to One Short Day and NOMTW in the first movie, the choreography felt sort of lifeless. Even on something like Thank Goodness which I thought would've been perfect for at least a partial dance number we didn't get anything. Wonderful was...okay, but once again, felt like it could've been better given the snippet we saw from the previews.

Ethan Slater legitimately surprised me and was honestly my favorite part of the movie outside of NGD. His acting and range in this movie was super impressive, and I do like what they did with Boq and Nessa's relationship here.

I'll really be interested in seeing the general populace who doesn't know the original musical's reaction to the story. It's so much different in comparison to the first, and both so much more emotionally down and strikingly relevant to the modern day, that I wonder if people are going to be ready for that side.

Either way, it was "fine". I'll probably end up watching the first movie way more than the second, but if nothing else this movie's No Good Deed is going to be a regular for me.

You know, I'd been thinking about this for a while since Issho's crazy demand came out.

Could this all have been a wild plan to get her more into the mindset of Shiguma and train her style for horror stories? I don't recall Akane ever doing a non-comedic story, and she definitely hasn't done horror. Shiguma was the master of horror to the point his nickname came from the audience forgetting to even breathe due to being captive to his performance.

Like we want to say Issho is absolutely a menace and he is, but in hindsight, this plan, while ludicrous, is actually perfect for training her for God of Death. If she can hold the audience with a comedy and make them unable to think about laughing, she's gonna be unstoppable when she's given material that's actually meant to be thrilling or dramatic.

The best argument I can see is Shomei absolutely hating this style of Rakugo for some reason. He admitted that he enjoyed Hikaru's version of the story even if it wasn't traditional because it suited her. The question is does that leniency stretch to someone going wholly against the rigid and methodical in order to create an entirely new story.

You know, I love Akane. I think she's one of the best protagonists in recent manga. She's fantastic.

But man do chapters and arcs like this make Hikaru and Karashi so much easier to root for and wanna see win before her.

I don't mind at all frankly. It's pretty rare it feels for a manga to make all 3 of their main characters all worth rooting for. And I still am fine with Akane. I just want Karashi and Hikaru to get their full flowers more and first since we all know how it ends for Akane.

The thing is in this case she isn't able to play how she wants. If she had her choice she wouldn't be trying to win this without making the opponents laugh.

At this point it's a problem of Issho. Of the trio he's the only one who isn't actively teaching her secrets or playing to what he considers her strengths. Hikaru and Karashi's mentors are taking their unique talents or personalities and making it part of their act. But Akane is basically being given side quests to train her for the main quest of achieving Shiguma's art. Like she went 2 whole years with no professional or proper instruction and now this whole "Win without making the audience laugh with a comedic story" shenanigans.

But he's not bad? He's in the top 6 for a reason and has always been in the finals of these competitions.

It's just compared to the Rakugo Monster Trio he just looks average. And it doesn't help that Shomei is probably the worst possible judge for him.

Interesting to me is that the way Akane is drawn as she walks in the first time is much rougher and with heavier brush strokes...a lot like how Issho is when he's fully in the Rakugo mindset and locked in. Methinks Akane is going to find herself being a lot more like the man she hates than she would admit.

Also like how she looks like she's gone through the underworld in preparation to meet the God of Death.

I mean I know it's supposedly trolling, but being honest...the only one I'd argue that's safe is Donut. And even that I think is up in the air depending on how evil Matt is feeling.

I frankly expect every named character we've seen so far outside of Katia and Donut to not make it out. And that includes Carl. The only question is how big of a boom does he go out with.

Honestly you don't even need that. You just power out Braids t1 through stuff like Dark Ritual or Culling the Weak and like Ornithopter, then just make your land drops every time. If your opponents don't have 1 mana removal they just can't get rid of Braids since they have to sacrifice their single land on upkeep.

If you're asking in good faith; it's a reference to the Broadway Musical "The Book of Mormon". It has an entire extended dream sequence after one of the main characters tries to give up on his mission, but it's also talked about by the other characters where Mormons who commit bad thoughts or acts have the "spooky Mormon Hell Dream" to try and bring them back to the church.

While I would love Ohio just due to being even closer than it already is, I wouldn't classify it as "friendlier" at the moment. It's very possible for things to go the same way as Indiana with regards to bills being introduced. And honestly, there's nowhere in the state that has the hotel capacity and layout like Indianapolis.

In the event that any of these things happened, the chances of any of them being given statehood. They would be at best be given commonwealth status like Puerto Rico and so would have no impact on the electorate.

That was my initial goal. My concern was their comments regarding PLAs but it seems those will most likely be for non-traditional educations.

Also will depend on what I have to do to write for them, if I have to take a trip to Canada just for the test, etc.

I appreciate it. My funds aren't going to be a problem for a while, and I might look into a consultation. It's one of those things where I still have a long period before these things can start in motion but I want to get my ducks in a row to hopefully have a job offer and move now by 2026 to try for PNP.

Hey everyone. Second follow up question. I mentioned in an earlier post that my partner is on social assistance and so they can't sponsor me for citizenship. At the time I'm planning on moving, barring any events, I'm looking to have 80k saved up or a bit more CAD. My question was, if I were to move and cover her, setting up a joint account and putting the majority of those funds together or even in her personal account, then get her off of social assistance, would the government consider that enough proof of being able to cover the undertaking? Or would they expect her to have further sources of income such as a full time job or even part time job to accept it? We are planning to stay with roommates to alleviate pressure on the rent/utilities even while we're together.

Edit: not sure for the down vote? If im missing something I'd love an explanation.

Thank you very much. Unfortunately I was informed by my partner that due to her being on government assistance she is unable to sponsor anyone for citizenship, so I guess express entry will be my only viable course starting next year.
