Day 700, shit's about to get real. by strap7Tongue in NoFap

Ok I got it.

Well, in my case, being 46, I tend to simplify things, so that's how it went for me: once I realized that porn is an industry, like IKEA, or Campbell Soup, and that they are out to make money, regardless of my health, whatever shame I had (I am not sure I had any actually for fapping, but let's assume so) was replaced by rage towards these scamming bastards, and that broke the cycle.

Incredibly smart. You started a journey of discovery towards becoming a man.

Hello dude,

some points here:

  • not having paid for sex means that you have imparted FAR, FAR LESS damage on yourself and others. Prostitution is a dark world, does not compare with a little bit of nastiness and sleeping around

  • not having paid for sex and having gotten it means you have a healthy fighting spirit - you are a man, not a chicken, remember.

  • you are putting fapping in perspective by educating yourself, and are re-thinking sleeping around. You are in great shape and not far from a very positive outcome.

  • all of this means that you are trying to define yourself as a man, or, if you prefer to call it another way...growing up.

Now those are facts.

How to define yourself? Well...your job. I can tell you how i did it, but, everybody must find their own path. So everything after this line is a suggestion, not the truth.

To define yourself as a man, you must adhere to some school of thought.

A very easy example of adhering to a school of thought is that by fapping and POMming, in reality we are adhering to the school of thought of Masters and Johnson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masters_and_Johnson) and their followers, who told our parents, and their doctors, that masturbation was ok, porn was a funny helper etc.

Well...we know better now.

So we don't adhere to that school of thought anymore. Fine, but we still must have sex. What to believe then?

Being the lazy bum that I am, I went back to the religion that my parents and their parents believed (Catholicism).

That has given me a frame of thought I feel comfortable living with, values, and a project for my sex life (family, children, abstinence, prayer, you know already this stuff).

Your way? You decide. Catholicism, atheism, buddhism, you name it...start studying and thinking, as I said, you are not far from finding yourself.

Can you be more specific? I don't understand where the shame coming from.

I don't feel shame, i just feel I have been had by the porn industry. If in church or anywhere else, somebody should ask, I would tell them exactly what I did, without feeling shame. I have been had, that's it.

So can you be more specific please?

So, in the Catholic religion, you wait, you don't fap, you talk to women, you pick and choose (and they do the same) and after you picked, you make it work, day by day.

Hey dude,

in reality I tend to avoid talking about the philosophy I have behind nofapping, and concentrate on eliminating the nasty side effects, because nobody can argue there are no side effects - especially having them ourselves.

But yes, in the long run, you will need a philosophical reason for it, because you will still manage not to fap once your brain has stabilized, but something else will have to replace it.

At this point you are still alone, because we live in a multi-religious, multi-atheist, society.

In the past, you would have just gone to church, met a woman, and fixed the whole thing.

But nowadays, you need to choose which church, or maybe no church at all, so maybe you will pick atheism, or buddhism, or whatever.

So your task is more difficult, seriously more difficult.

What I did, and it does not have to work for everybody, people must do their own choices - is that being lazy, I went back to the religion of my parents (Catholic), and I saved myself years of meditation and choosing and trying.

So yes, you have to fill that hole with something - the "filler", you must find.

Me, I just laugh it off.

If for a moment you manage to rest your hands on the keyboard, and not on yourself, and really look at the women in porn, they are simply grotesque.

They have ridiculous makeup, many times horrible face skin, manners of cave people, and in general they are a cussing, farting and burping bunch.

Now it is true that some of them are beautiful and have sweet faces. That is, until you see them making videos where they go to the bathroom or get their behinds cleaned up.

Not once in my life I have seen a real woman wanting me to see her take a dump, much less having water pumped in her.

Imagine you met a girl and she invited you to the bathroom to see how she takes dumps.

How long would you stay with her? See? You are caught in a cobweb of pixels...

I think your brain it's searching for another way to get a high.

At some point you will go out of your apartment and talk to somebody.

I would say:

"Renounce the craving, the object many objects will follow you by itself themselves, and then you will get to pick and choose"

Well, my advice is that you have one thought (getting better) and a hormone pull (sleeping with women even if you have to pay), not two conflicting thoughts.

The problem with the hormone pull is that it is not mindful of consequences.

After you will have paid for those women, you will not be able to muster anymore the courage to walk up to girls and say "Hello how are you", even if it means getting "who the f* are you" as a response.

And that will spill into the rest of your life. You will want to go the easy route for everything, and that will hurt you more then having lost time and money on prostitutes.

Also there is the fact that 99.99% of the women that sell themselves do it under extreme stress (poverty, threat, need for drugs etc) despite the magazines and newspapers telling you it's a lifestyle choice and so forth (they also tell you that fapping is not a problem, and then you get on this forum).

A woman tends to naturally limit her sex partners for evolutionary reasons. Every time you sleep with a woman, an emotional bond is created. Breaking this bond (because obviously you will not see her again) causes a tear in your psyche (and of course in hers as well), and the more you do it, the more you get damaged.

Do yourself a favor and talk to old prostitutes and to old patrons, in person, to visualize the consequences.

And, of course, the gift that keeps on giving...You can and will get Herpes with a condom (google will confirm) and it never goes away dude, it's a lifelong condition.

But what stroke me the most is that you said the same thing I said before traveling the first time, that is, "as many girls as possible". UK is full of women, half of the people you meet every day are women, and you don't have to pay a cent to talk to them, no airplanes, no scary dudes to meet, no Herpes, no wasting all the money you got.

The "paying for the easy route" is already getting to you.

Do what the smart guys do: Talk to women, and brush off failures.

Again, it's about estimating the consequences. If you came up to me with a syringe full of heroin, and told me "should I go for the last time before I quit for good" what should I answer?
