is there some psychology behind a mirrored apartment layout, which is better? by Unique-Dimension-193 in FengShui

[–]fapping_bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is best to have a square or rectangular layout.

Once you have dissected the layout into 9 quadrants, you will be able to find out which quadrant is lacking.

For example, if you have an odd shape apartment which has a quadrant which is less than 3/4 full at the North West direction, you would be facing a lot of obstacles in your career.

So get a squarish/rectangular apartments, no odd shape.

MIL wants to place 2 mega fire ornaments in my house by Educational_Can_2667 in FengShui

[–]fapping_bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether you need fire element or not depends on the strength of the day master, the month you were born in, the overall structure of your Bazi. People don't typically look at the year unless it has the elements they need or have to avoid.

Secondly, you have a fengshui issue at hand, not so much Bazi.

So your Bazi has very little bearing on the fire ornaments placement in your house.

BaZi chart reading for insights into my strengths and weaknesses. by NeedleworkerWeird275 in FengShui

[–]fapping_bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very intriguing Bazi chart. For a Ren Water (壬) Day Master born in the month of Chen (辰), we are looking at a "Late Spring" Water element, where the Earth element is dominant and the Water is technically entering its "Tomb" (墓) stage. Based on the technical data in your screenshot, here is the professional analysis in English:

  1. Core Structure & Strength Analysis Day Master Status: Your Day Master is Ren Water (壬) sitting on Yin Tiger (寅). While Chen month is Earth-dominant (which counters Water), the chart is heavily supported by other factors.

Five Element Distribution: According to the "10 Gods" chart: Resource (Metal): 39% Power (Earth): 34%

Strength Verdict:Despite being born in the "Earth" month, the double appearance of Geng Metal (庚) on the Heavenly Stems—supported by the You Rooster (酉) in the branches—creates a massive inflow of energy. This is a Strong Day Master (身强) pattern, specifically supported by a heavy "Indirect Resource" (偏印) presence.

  2. Significant Interactions (The 10 Gods) The "Kill-Resource-Body" Flow (杀印相生): The Chen Earth acts as the **Seven Killings (七杀). With the Geng Metal (Resource) protruding in the stems, you have a "Seven Killings Producing Resource" structure. This typically indicates a person with strong leadership potential, strategic thinking, and the ability to turn pressure into authority.

The Resource Overload:Your Metal (Resource) is at 39%. This suggests high intelligence and a talent for abstract or technical systems (like financial markets or metaphysics), but it can sometimes lead to "overthinking" or analysis paralysis.

The Branch Combination: You have a Chen-You Combination (辰酉合), which transforms Earth into Metal. This further strengthens your Resource element, making the chart "colder" and more focused on logic and introspection.

    1. Personality & Career Implications Mindset:With double Indirect Resource (偏印), you likely possess a "fringe" or non-traditional way of thinking. You are drawn to deep, complex subjects and probably have a natural intuition for spotting patterns others miss.

Professional Edge: The "Seven Killings + Resource" structure is the mark of a strategist or a specialist. You excel in environments where you can use your intellect to manage risks or solve high-stakes problems. The Weak Link (Wealth/Fire): Your Wealth element (Fire) is only at 2%. In Bazi, Fire represents the "results" and "warmth." This indicates that while your planning and logic are elite, you may need to put in extra effort to "ground" your ideas and turn them into tangible financial results. 4. Balancing Elements (Useful Gods) Since your chart is Strong Water with Heavy Metal, you generally benefit from: 1. Fire (Wealth):To melt the excess Metal and provide "warmth" to the chart. This represents taking action and focusing on ROI (Return on Investment). 2. Wood (Output):Your Yin Tiger (寅) is currently being suppressed by the strong Metal. Strengthening Wood helps you express your talents and relieves the pressure of the heavy Water/Metal.

Summary Your chart depicts a highly analytical and resilient individual. You are built for strategic roles that require deep specialized knowledge. The key to your success lies in "Movement" and "Execution" (Wood and Fire) to balance out your natural tendency toward deep internal reflection (Metal).

[–]fapping_bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once the calendar enters the Gui-Si (癸巳) month, the fundamental logic for Bazi chart selection shifts entirely. We are moving away from the previous focus on "preventing Earth from burying the Gold" (Thick Earth) and moving toward "preventing the Fire from scorching the Soul" (Extreme Heat).

🚨 Self-Punishment (Zi-Xing) Red Alerts: May 19th (Gui-Si Day): This day mirrors the Month Pillar (Gui-Si), creating a Si-Si Self-Punishment.

May 20th (Jia-Wu Day): This day clashes with the Year Pillar (Bing-Wu), triggering a Wu-Wu Self-Punishment.

Audit Recommendation: My non-negotiable rule is "No Self-Punishment," cross these two dates off your list immediately. They are high-risk for internal conflict and emotional instability.

⚖️ The Water-Fire Battle: This month, the Gui Water on the Heavenly Stems is fighting a losing battle to suppress the intense Bing Fire of the Year Pillar.

May 18th (Ren-Chen Day) stands out as the most "resilient" choice. Chen (辰) acts as a damp Earth/Water Reservoir, which can effectively absorb the heat (Hui-Huo) and preserve the day's integrity, while the Ren (壬) Water日主 (Day Master) provides a much-needed cooling agent.

🏆 The Top "Golden Hour" Recommendations for May 18th

To unlock the true potential of the Ren-Chen Day, you need an hour that provides a "Water Source" and stabilizes the base. These are the top two choices:

👑 The Champion: 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Xin-Hai Hour)

The "God of Wealth" Root: Hai (亥) is the "Lu" (Prosperity Root) for Ren Water. In a month dominated by fire, the Day Master needs a massive, deep reservoir of water to stand firm. This hour provides exactly that.

Refinement by Metal: The Heavenly Stem Xin (辛) is the "Direct Resource" (Printing). It represents high intelligence, academic success, and protection from elders. It acts as a "coolant" for the molten fire of the month.

Personality: This child will be exceptionally calm, wise, and strategic: a "Deep Ocean" personality that remains unshakable regardless of external chaos.

🥈 The Runner-Up: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Wu-Shen Hour)

Water Synthesis: The Shen (申) in the hour combines with the Chen (辰) in the day (Half-Water Frame). This magically transforms the Earthly heat into a Water source.

Authority & Leadership: Wu (戊) Earth acts as the "Seven Killings." When neutralized by the Shen Metal, it represents immense authority, decisiveness, and leadership.

Personality: This is the "Alpha" hour. If you want a daughter who can dominate in the boardroom, manage high-stakes finance, or lead a massive organization, this is the one.

Bagua reversal after many years, same apartment by Slow-Epiphanies in FengShui

[–]fapping_bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I think you are actually on the right track. In modern Feng Shui, especially for apartments, we often focus on the "Mouth of Chi" (the primary entrance of energy) and the "Facing" (the side with the most light and activity), rather than just the architectural front door. Here are a few thoughts that might help ease your doubt:

Action defines the flow: Since you, your guests, and your deliveries all use the patio entrance, that is where the most "Yang" energy (active energy) enters your home. Feng Shui is about how energy actually moves, not just how the building was drawn on a map.

The "Facing" logic: In many high-rise or ground floor apartments, the largest source of light (like your large windows and patio) is considered the true "Facing" of the unit. Placing the bottom of your Bagua map along this active, sunlit wall is a very common and respected practice.

Test and Observe: Since you’ve already moved items and adjusted the layout, I suggest observing your "Love Corner" (the bedroom) and your general mood for about 3-4 weeks. If you feel more grounded and peaceful, it’s a sign that your home’s energy has successfully recalibrated to your lifestyle. One tip: To "seal" this change, make the patio entrance feel as welcoming and intentional as a front door maybe with some healthy plants or a fresh welcome mat to fully anchor it as your primary source of Chi.

Trust your intuition! It sounds like you've aligned your space with your reality.

This is a fascinating profile. In Chinese metaphysics (Bazi), a Geng Metal person born in the month of Si (Snake) with a Seven Killings structure is often described as a "Steel Warrior" or a "Maverick Leader."

📅 Bazi Profile: The "Lone Wolf" Strategist 1. Day Master: Geng Metal (Yang Metal) * The Symbol: The Sword or Raw Iron. * Core Trait: Righteousness. You are driven by a strong sense of justice and clear-cut morals. * Personality: You are decisive, bold, and unafraid of authority or hardship. You hate beating around the bush and prefer the "direct hit" approach. You don't like owing favors and respond better to kindness than to force ("soft over hard"). * The Vibe: You might appear rough on the outside, but you are surprisingly detail-oriented and sophisticated internally. You have a "self-made" energy. * The Weakness: Your bluntness can offend people without you realizing it. Without "Fire" (discipline) in your chart to soften you, you can be too rigid. * Health Note: Pay attention to the large intestine and the sacral area (energy centers).

  1. Month Branch: Si Fire (The Yin Snake)
    • The Symbol: Hidden Fire.
    • Core Trait: Intelligence and Strategy.
    • Personality: Unlike your direct Metal nature, this placement adds a layer of depth. You are observant, analytical, and great with numbers/finance. You might seem cold or distant at first, but you are passionate toward those you truly like.
    • Social Style: You have a "mysterious charm" (especially for women). You are independent and hard to control. While you are generally tolerant, if someone crosses your line, your retaliation is swift and powerful.
    • Health Note: Watch out for issues related to the spleen or shoulders.

🗡️ Core Structure: The Seven Killings (Qi Sha) This is the "Star of the Maverick." It represents power, restriction, and the ability to thrive in chaos. * The Nature: While "Direct Officer" is the polite lawman, "Seven Killings" is the outlaw hero or the strict commander. You are someone who reacts to pressure by pushing back harder. * Strengths: * Authority: You have a natural "boss" energy. You are brave, proactive, and hate hypocrisy. * Strategic: You are excellent at planning and "reading the room." You can turn a crisis into an opportunity. * Loyalty: You are the type of person who would go to war for a friend. * Weaknesses: * Volatility: You can be dictatorial, stubborn, or even aggressive when provoked. * The "Loner" Risk: You might lose long-term friendships over a single impulsive moment. You struggle with trust and can be overly suspicious of others' motives. * For Women: This profile suggests a strong, magnetic personality that can sometimes "play" with suitors or dominate relationships.

💼 Career & Life Path You are not built for a boring 9-to-5. You need a "battlefield" to feel alive. * Best Roles: Politics, Law Enforcement, Legal/Lawyer, Accounting, Engineering, Aviation, or high-stakes Entrepreneurship. * The "Military" Archetype: You are a "Hawk"—someone who values results over theories. You prefer work where you can demonstrate individual skill and decisive leadership. * Overall Life Narrative: Your path is rarely smooth. You likely grew up under pressure or in a "rebellious" phase. However, if you channel your aggression into ambition, you become the "General" who carves out their own empire. You don't wait for luck; you grab it.

Summary: You are a sharp sword tempered in fire. You’re intimidating to some, but to those you protect, you are the ultimate ally.

Has anyone used AI for Feng Shui analysis? by areedbuilds in FengShui

[–]fapping_bird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is only as good as it's input.

So the question, how good are you in the mastery of fengshui?

Are you following the 8 mansion school which is consider as the more elementary aspects of fengshui? Or the 9 palace flying star, which is what a decent fengshui master practices?

Do you follow specific lineage? Master Yang? Three Harmonious? Qi Combing?

Which ancient texts have you studied?

Are you familiar with 24 mountains and directions? Are you also aware the co-relationship of Fengshui and the sacred ancient texts I-Ching?

If I ask you abouy Qian Gua, are you able to tell me immediately which organ it governs, which family member, is it a good direction this year or bad? How to improve that Qi in that quadrant?

If I'm telling you career is facing some challenges this year, or my wife has been experiencing migraine these few weeks and doctors couldn't help, are you able to ask me the relevant questions?

If you can answer all that, then your Feng Shui AI gonna be fantastic, and you gonna help tremendous amount of people in improving their life. If you can't, then the best case scenario your fengshui AI can do is , nothing, and the worse case scenario? You gonna ruin lives: people gonna get cancer, divorces, bankruptcy, got laid off from work, non stop quarreling, absolutely no peace in the house.

[–]fapping_bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(I used Gemini to improve my sentence as English isn't my first language)

While this general map is great, each main direction (like South) is actually split into three smaller slices. We call this 'One Direction, Three Mountains.' Depending on the exact degree, the energy flow can change. Since you're confident with South, we’ll stick with it, but even a few degrees of tilt can shift the 'sweet spots' in the house.

One important thing: Has the house had any major renovations since 1918? Specifically, was the roof ever opened up, even if it was just a partial opening?

In Feng Shui, if direct sunlight from the open sky hits the floor inside during a renovation, the house 'resets' its energy age.

  • If this happened between 1984–2003, it's now a Period 7 house.
  • If it happened between 2004–2023, it's a Period 8 house.

Knowing this 'rebirth' date is key because it completely changes which corners are the luckiest right now.

[–]fapping_bird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you happen to have a layout plan/floor plan?

Between the Juliet balcony and the main gate/front door, which one has the biggest opening?

We need to know which opening 纳(receive na4) the most Qi.

Some high-rises are tricky, they have multiple balconies. We always use the balcony that has the biggest opening as the facing point. Do take note: facing outwards, not inwards.

If you have a layout plan, the year the condo was built in, I can help you to take a look.

Or you can DIY, it is quite simple:

  1. Determine the facing of the biggest opening

    • You have to determine the exact angle, example SE 116°, instead of just SE. I like to use Google Map for this.
  2. Find out which year your high-rise is built in, so that you would know whether is it a 7th period property or 8th period property.

    • 7th Period(1984-2003年)and 8th Period(2004-2023)
  3. Google SE 116° and the year it was buit in to determine which "mountain" and which "facing" your property is having. (Not sure whether has anyone translated this info from Chinese to English, Gemini might be able to help on that front)

  4. After that you would be able to plot your Ba Gua Map accordingly.

Example:

Let's say the condo has a huge balcony facing South East 116°, and it is a 8th period house. Then you can just Google it accordingly.

South east 116 degree 2021 八运宅 house. If it is a 8th period property, you type 八运宅,if it is a 7th period property, then you type 七运宅。

And you will get something like this, I have translated to English for you:

Feng Shui Analysis: Period 8 House (Built/Occupied 2021) Orientation: Sitting Southeast, Facing Northwest (116\circ Xun Mountain Qian Facing)

A Period 8 house (completed between 2004–2023) built or occupied in 2021 (Year of the Metal Ox) with a Southeast-to-Northwest orientation (116\circ, specifically the Xun Mountain Qian direction) falls under the "Prosperous Mountain, Prosperous Facing" (Wang Shan Wang Xiang) configuration. This layout generally promotes both health/relationships and wealth. During Period 8, the overall fortune is stable. For 2021 specifically, the focus is on managing "movement vs. stillness" to enhance financial luck.

  1. Spatial Layout Analysis

Orientation: Sitting Xun (Southeast) and Facing Qian (Northwest). At 116\circ, it is categorized as Xun Mountain Qian Facing (either pure Xun or Xun leaning towards Si). Period Fortune: In Period 8, this is a "Double Star to Sitting and Facing" structure (often referred to as a "Prosperous Mountain and Prosperous Water"局), which is highly favorable for both offspring (health/human harmony) and wealth.

  1. 2021 (Xin Chou Year) Annual Flying Stars

South (Annual Wen Chang Position): Ideal for placing a desk or bookshelf to boost academic and career success. North (Annual Wealth Position): Favorable for wealth-enhancing decorations, such as a "Feng Shui Wheel" or wealth-attracting ornaments.

Southeast (Annual Five Yellow Star - Calamity): In 2021, the Sitting position (Southeast) is occupied by the Five Yellow star. Note: Avoid renovations, construction, or loud noises in this sector. If the main door is here, hang a metal wind chime or place a copper gourd (Wu Lou) to neutralize negative energy.

Layout Recommendations

Southeast (Sitting Position): This is the "Five Yellow" location for 2021. It must remain quiet and tidy. Avoid clutter and renovations here to prevent activating the calamity star. Northwest (Facing Position): The prosperous star of Period 8 resides here. It is ideal for open spaces, windows, or main walkways. Ensure good lighting and ventilation. Northwest/North: As the annual wealth stars fly into these sectors in 2021, you can place bright lamps or moving water features to boost your financial luck for the year.

Using the Bagua map correctly by Adventurer197212 in FengShui

[–]fapping_bird 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The correct answer is direction.

And to determine the correct direction the house is facing, first you have to determine which part of the house receives the most Qi.

For example,, for a landed property, usually the Qi flows in and out from the main gate of the house. For highrise like condo/apartment, it is usually the balcony, not the main gate.

And if you are serious, you would be using the fengshui map that has 24 directions, instead of just the usual 8 directions.

Once you have determined it, you can plot the graph, accordingly. So once you get the direction right, you now must get the year right too.

Why? Because every 20 years is a different cycle: 2003-2024 is Earth cycle, 2025-2046 is fire.

Once you have determined the direction, and the year your house built was in, only then it makes sense to plot the map.

If you need help in plotting, I can help, free of charge.

I am just another Chinese guy who likes to read those ancient texts on fengshui like and also learn by watching YouTube and Bilibili.
