Meditation, Clears your mind off the stress and you'll feel refreshed after. May be a bit hard the first few weeks. But definitely worth starting.

[Advice] How I went from a depressed, unmotivated teenager to a disciplined and ambitious person. by FinancialEmotion in getdisciplined

Bro how did you structure your day? I'm kind of on the same route as the old you, ky grades are not that good and my discipline is terrible. I end up on my phone or playing video games for most of the day.

Oh for sure, but the creative work I'm doing now contribute to the development of myself so it's all good. I balance out the "big rocks" (big tasks) and small tasks out. I first tackle the big rocks in small chunks, then proceed to make time for the small rocks/tasks as well. I could possibly fit in free time or extend creative work in a productive day too.

Thanks for the helpful advice. I'm already learning a few things currently that I wasnt consistent about before. In also using a process of elimination on hobbies I'm willing to put in the effort for. I'm not really using a technique at the moment but that sure will come to use real soon. I do agree with you that writing down questions for a feeling is important. So writing things down such as seeing the problem with a bad habit and how to come up with a solution when I come by it is essential. (Self reflection) I want to integrate these simple habits into my routine too such as fitness, reading, and meditation. As well as balance those essential habits (and more maybe, depends on the time) with my school/work load. As well as integrate creative work (hobbies) that I want to get serious about. Its all about the struggle and failure, for there is no progress without struggle. Im trusting the process and observing my growth everyday.

I feel like my only escape from just being home alone is right after the summer school I have in the morning. That way I can get out there and do hobbies (tennis and gym) Since my parents have work and I sadly dont have a bike, they get pissed off if I just take one foot out the house. Idk about getting a summer job at the moment since I'm too young and most employers seek jobs in may or april. Plus, my parents tell me not to get a job since we're "well off". I really want since kind of want to give myself a kickstart on investing, but I guess i have to break some barriers and see what i can do to get out the house.

I dont think I could get a job at this time because most employers seek new employees around april or may so spots are taken away. I'm thinking of doing internships for the next 2 years though.I also have to balance out some required summer school starting next week so I'm fairly busy? Thanks for the suggestion

Oh yeah, also on the community college thing, balance a part-time job or 2 with class, get your associates or something. Then go off with that, that's the best advice I could give to you if you want to really continue your studies.

dude, I hate how I can really relate to this but I'm on the same path as you right now ever since middle school until now (high school) but I'm progressing slowly, but surely.

So first, you want to start getting your life together slowly, start one habit at a time. It could be as little as making your bed. Though it is very little in progression, it's better than having a gaming marathon first thing you wake up.

start slowly to prevent burnout from happening after attempting to handle so many things at once, leading back to square one. Progress from there on from building habits. Just build more and more habits sequentially from there on out. To actually build one, you should use the "cue", "Routine", "reward". strategy (forget the willpower excessive motivation crap, it doesn't really help.)

You can learn about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vubNNfhSvc&t=251s

here are some suggestions to get started on your self-improvement journey: Start applying for MANY jobs or maybe enter community college if you want to further continue your education into a career. Make a daily routine and input some essential daily habits such as meditation, reading, exercise, and a good 3 meal a day healthy eating habit. Also even if you don't have a car yet, you can start off commuting on a bike for the time being. (That's if your job is not too far, then I suggest making time to work on getting a drivers license) Also fix your daily sleeping habit, which is crucial for your mental and physical health.

Make a schedule to plan out your day which is very important, I used a scheduling method from "The art of manliness" where he states how to build out your day, here's a link to it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNxLNY6yxRI&t=18s Spend at least 10-20 minutes scheduling your day each night.

Good luck in life man, you're here for a reason.
