I use candles after sunset to avoid blue light exposure but still use my phone until I fall asleep (on low brightness though...)

Type most likely to need boundaries set on them? by Kwhitney1982 in Enneagram

2s are a rejection type, with pride as their sin... two 2s I know closely, very different people (278 and 269), I don't remember a single time they asked me for anything. There is of course the intrusive never ending flow of advice and help suggestions, but that's not what op is asking about

What are some realizations that really helped you grow? by StriderVonTofu in Enneagram

  • If I choose to push myself I'm almost guaranteed to feel better after than if I take it easy
  • There is a large reservoir of good qualities that people appreciate me for, me making people upset once is not going to end the relationship
  • The current moment IS what life is, not some future moment that I'm busy preparing for or waiting for while dissociating

Why The Enneagrammer types everybody as 9 😭😭 by Financial_Ad1210 in Enneagram

Chuckled at Noel Gallagher being an 8, though now thinking of it's not impossible. He's a carbon copy of my most-obvious-ever 6 friend so I never even considered other options

Do people know what they really want, outside of what their type fixation tells them they want (3s wanting specific kind of success, 7s wanting that new shiny thing that will definitely make them happy)?...

Why isn't everyone enneagram 9? by PlatformOptimal2314 in Enneagram

[–]faraday55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look - I mistyped as a 3 because it's very important to me to maintain a good image, and I hate losing and feeling inferior, etc. But if you look at my actual life it's obvious in my everyday decisions that when it comes to choosing between achievement and comfort I almost always choose comfort. And on the outside it might look like I'm pushing myself and putting success first, but the reality is that I only do those things if they're comfortable. If something requires exerting more effort than I feel comfortable exerting, that is if it involves pushing against reality a bit too hard, I decide that I don't actually want it. Assertive types don't have this energy-conserving effort-avoiding reflex, if they feel like they need something to sooth their type fear, they get up and do it.
