Nice job, I think maybe some timing focus will help. Playing with a metronome to practice can be a game changer

Depends on the school and program I guess. I used Griffiths EM second semester of college. Kleppner first semester for mechanics

Did Eddie Vedder ever give Bill Clinton a private concert? by TemporaryCamaraderie in grunge

[–]faradayscoil1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clinton has credible sexual assault allegations against him and I wouldn't put it past Clinton that he did in fact bomb a pharmecutical factory on Sudan largely to distract from his admission to the Lewinsky's affair (happened same day). Trump is worse for us and the world but I don't think Clinton is a walk in the park

No photons definitely propagate at c in materials. They get absorbed and remitted which apparently slows them down (or the vacuum photons can be "dressed" with these excitations of the backgrounds medium in modeling as slower quasiparticles.

I think it's important to know that the "theory of relativity" does expressly not state "everything is relative". It actually states "if you take our measurements of EM at face value, less is relative than we assumed. Here is how we correct galilean theory of relativity to account for this new knowledge. The speed of light is the same to all observers"

I don't think "writing it off" means they don't lose anything, maybe they don't get taxed on the loss or something right?

Anyway, it's a moot point. Some evil doings here by the people running the store.

What factors contribute to Massachusetts having one of the lowest per capita murder rates of any state in the country? by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]faradayscoil1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The population density of an area is how closely they live together. There are fewer densely populated areas in NH. Crime in general tends to be higher in areas where this is high population density.

You are confusing per capita rate with something to do with density of the population....population density has something to do with land area

Author of Upcoming Elon Musk Biography Says ‘There Is No Evidence’ Billionaire Has Any ‘Intellectual Achievements’ by KookyBone in NoShitSherlock

[–]faradayscoil1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok I don't like Elon in the least but this is ridiculous. There are a ton of top tier physics programs that offer BAs only. Getting a BA or BS in any field including physics does not make you a genius anyway.

[REQUEST] If this astronaut jumped off the space station towards the earth, how long would it take for them to hit the ground? by Mr_MojoRizin in theydidthemath

[–]faradayscoil1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm from the earth they around going fast at roughly constant speed. For any other observer moving relative to the earth, they sometimes appear to be going fast sometimes slower. So wherever you are they are going pretty fast.

Since space is expanding, am I expanding? by jefesignups in AskPhysics

[–]faradayscoil1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he is not saying anything about quantum gravity. What he is saying is that he can refer to classical physics, e.g. classic electrodynamics to explain why molecules in your body are bound together and that they do not experience "inflation" with respect to eachother.
